Hi, I´m Klaus from Back In Time Records, the sample provider for EVE. Of course we´ve already considered many cult instruments for EVE, from Rhodes to Solina, CP70B to B3. What´s your favourite wishlist of instruments you want to get with EVE? This question is for all you others too! We´ll love to hear your thoughts.

Cheers :-) kpr

hi klaus - thanks for replying

tbh - i dont have a great knowledge of vintage gear - i was just curious

what i WOULD like to see is a VARIETY of sound sources - the wider range of starting points the more us users could do with the EVE modulation possibilities [and layering capabilities] to create new and exciting sounds

there are MANY others here at K-v-R who know more about vintage gear than me and could compile a VERY cool wishlist of stuff - SCOT !!! - are you there ???

Hy guys, thanxs for all the posts, we are working on most isues.

Have in mind that since there is no manual yet, some problems are actually features that people don't know how to use due to the lack of manual. ;)

About adding Resonant Filter, is not an option for this synth, since we are not emulation ANALOG devices, but Vintage-Keys instead. Another Analog synth like this will be released after, with resonant filters. :D

Thanxs a lot, I will check this. So far the first URL did a 404 error when I tried to download the soft. So I'm trying the second URL now and so far is working. ;)

Comments on the tests so far.
  • The LP Filter (ADSR Low-Pass Filter) is indeed with problems, but is easy to fix, should be on the next update.
  • The VOLUME TYPE was set to HIGH as default, we will fix that. On the next update it will be NORMAL. Just click on the logo to see the global-menu and its options.
  • Clicks on Voice = 1 we will check that out. Is related to the MONO mode.
  • About CPU usage, remember that making a LONG release will eat voices like crazy, so have that in mind. ;) 16 voices x 3 (when using all 3 OSC slots) will use a lot of CPU indeed. Normally I would use 8 voices, even for pads, just to not overload the CPU. When rendering you can set to 16 voices to have a better sound. But we will also double check the NOTE-ON codes to see if we can opt a bit.
  • "Bug - If you switch the channel on the upper right while playing a
note it gets stuck (IE switch from channel 1 to another channel, you get a
permanent stuck note) To turn off note, I have to completely unload Eve out
of the rack and reload it. Even turning off the 'power' for the plugin
doesn't fix the stuck note. Second time I tried it, it unstuck the note
after I reselected channel one and played a few notes."

    We will fix that too.
Thanxs all for all the test so far.

NEW BETA VERSION 2

We just uploaded 3 new files, all for BETA-2

- UPDATE (just the DLL in the installer, you can just install over the old installer)

- LITE (2 SoundSets)

- COMPLETE (All current SoundSets, but several more are going to be added before release)

The CPU SPIKES were fixed, also CPU usage droped a bit, specially when not using the internal FXs. The Keyboard is not animated anymore, it was using too much CPU resources, but it still lites the keys when you press with the mouse.

The LP filter was NOT fixed yet, it will be on the next update.

NEW BETA 3 UPDATE

Hello, we just uploaded an update for BETA-3. If you allready have BETA-2 files, just download the UPDATE. If not, download the BETA-2 with SoundSets and install, after that download the BETA-3 update and install over the old instalation.

Here the LP (Low-Pass filter) for the ADSR Envelope is running perfectly. It uses a bit more CPU when is ON, but the quality is high. This LP option is fun to use with E-Pianos, set VELOCITY-SENSITIVITY to MAX (full right) and play along, you will see what we mean.

The click-problems were also resolved, both mono and poly modes with long releases, attacks, whatever. Even STEALED notes doesn't click anymore.

CPU usage was droped a bit, but not when using the LP option.

The VOLUME level was fixed to NORMAL (when including a NEW instance)

Wow! You're moving at an impressive pace, as usual. I just downloaded Beta 2 a short while ago, but had not had time to install it quite yet.

I'm downloading Beta 3 as I type this. Hopefully I can install this one before Beta 4 comes out later tonight. :D

Hi,

Ok with regard to seeing some nice sounds, would it possible to include some Vox, Farfisa, VP-330, Elka & Mellotron stuff in there too ??

Also I have finished my upgrade to my PC, so I am now running on an Athlon XP 1800+ and the CPU problems I experienced have dissapeared :-D however a fresh install probably helped too.

I am downloading the newer versions as we speak and can't wait to get stuck in !!!

Keep up the good work guys !

Cheers,
DJJ

I still haven't been able to crash EVE (trying hard though). Nice new soundsets . Could there be a Clavinet & some Wurli variations (soft / dirty). Mellotron tapes would also be a nice addition...
Anyway, as such, I seem to like it :)

Etienne

Ok, I got the new betas downloaded and installed.

Good job guys !! The volume is much better straight out withouth playing with any settings. Also the news ounds really helped unlock the potential of the instrument.

I have also started to play around with the velocity and key switching. All that section seems to be fine, although a couple of minor points. The velocity switching menu - would a text entry not be quicker and better ?? Also maybe an inclusion of some kind of crossfade option would be nice to :-D

I also experienced a stuck note when drawing notes in Cubase Key edit, although I think this may be a Cubase bug as it has happened with some other plugins.

Also, it would be nice if the mute buttons under the volume meters worked ;-)

Cheers,
DJJ

PS - Still trying to crash it, no luck :-( lol

and @ EtiennedeV

Again Klaus from BITR here. Thanks for the wishlist instruments. Certainly William will post the final instrument list for EVE, but I can say that some of your favourites are already in. All others will be considered. Interesting are the Farfisa and Elka, we´ve already sampled these instruments but didn´t thought that there is demand. Alright, your wish will be granted, said Zoltar the oracle.
