I used the plug as an Effect on an audio track and also main out. I tried the plug in Live 5.2.2 and it seamed to work better, need to test more in there. Its definitely the stutter that has the lag in logic and I don't like how it makes a gain jump, max level should be unity. It seems the Size knob in "Loop" is miss labeled where 1/8t is 1/8 also why I thought this one was off. In general Effectrix could sound a bit more transparent compared to Glitch. Audio quality is more important to me than features, and cpu usage is a non issue these days. Almost everything I could dream of is in there however. Maybe a signal routing matrix, (Im assuming all efects are parallel), individual FX EQs, and the sequence lanes could be tinted to show you what line you are drawing on.
Thanx for the prompt reply, I will continue to make tests...

Wow! This thing is very cool! Might have to pick this up sometime; it's like instant inspiration!

I think I'll wait for v1.1 before taking a listen.

Every preset, every effect. It's strange because I can switch between let's says 4 or 5 presets, it works fine then the fatal error comes...Sugar Bytes wrote: @Jee
Could you tell me on which presets the crash happens. Or do you have other hints for me what could cause the trouble.
If you want a screenshot I can provide one.
I tested packing inserting eXT 1.4 VST effect, then insert effectrix in eXT, and no crash !
But no automation...
I would love effectrix run well directly in sonar however....
and I realize I've been a bit fast with my judgement on the effects, actually they sound really not bad...

I'm loving this! I think the effects sound great and it's low cpu which is very important. I haven't had crashes on my macbook, but I haven't used it in a song yet. And I haven't noticed sync issues but that's because I've only tried it with single drum loops playing individually. I'm sure you'll get those issues sorted and I'l be glad to pick this up.
Great job with the option to control the 12 different sequences either by midi notes or by automation. That's a very flexible system.
The only thing I notice that I would say is missing is a volume control for each effect. I know it has mix, but that only controls the wet/dry. I think a level control is very important for each effect, otherwise it's impossible to got the levels you want in your sequence. I'm sure Artillery has one, and the more I think about it, the more crucial I think it is.
cheers

Works fine here, on a macbook pro in Live 7.01.
Nice plug.

I've had a few crashes now, but not as often as some. Also I noticed that the vinyl effect makes some pretty bad clicks when the effect turns off (ie when each drawn sequence bar ends for vinyl - not when the actual effect is turned off)
I really love that stretch effect, very cool!
Definitely missing a volume for each effect though.

So, I've spent some time with this now (Live 7.0.2, 2.33GHz C2D MacBook Pro, 10.4.9). I find that if I alt+tab to another window while Effectrix is open, the GUI becomes unresponsive when I return to my DAW. I was able to reproduce this issue during a quick succesion of mouse actions but I can't recall what actually caused it. I remember that I had changed the clock divider, adjusted the pattern length, browsed the individual effects and eventually tried to select a new preset at which point I found that I the presets would change (i.e. I could hear the difference) but the GUI wouldn't.
Thankfully I haven't had a single crash despite pushing it pretty hard.
I'm having a great time, I'll have to pick up Artillery soon.

When I freeze a track in Ableton with Effectrix as an FX, it freezes *without* Effectrix working it's magic - this is the demo obviously, can anyone confirm if this is a limitation? I don't want to buy it to find that it's useless for me as I tend to freeze most tracks.

I've also noticed that the cpu meter does not change when the effectrix device is turned off in Live. You have to actually delete it. Strange, I've never seen that before.

did not try yet but I will.. looks nice.
a question: prolly not interesting for most users, yet I'd like to see:
- possiblity to include custom vst effects. perhaps only useful in modular vst hosts. say, you had 4-8 audio in's/out's to wire effectrix to other vst plugins? dont know if possible of course and maybe I am speaking about a totally different product...

Similar and maybe related:
Yesterday I had a case, where a Live song suddenly started to have audio 'hickups' (dropouts). There was one instance of Effectrix in the song, but disabled (because I had renderd its output). Deleting the instance of the disabled Effectrix cured the performance of Live (i.e. no 'hickups' anymore).
Hope those issues will get ironed out soon, because other than that Effectrix is the effect I've been waiting for for all my life. What an amazingly simple but fun to play with tool!

Freezing works perfectly fine here with Ableton Live and the full version of Effectrix.re_mute wrote:When I freeze a track in Ableton with Effectrix as an FX, it freezes *without* Effectrix working it's magic - this is the demo obviously, can anyone confirm if this is a limitation?
