Is there a safe way to get all of their files (above mentioned companies) off my Receptor?
These are manufacturers who have products on my Receptor that I will never use.
I'd like to really clean up my unit.
If I simply go through the Receptor GUI and remove the plug-ins I don't want, will it clear them off the hard-drive? or simply remove them from the available lists? (Plug-ins & Effect)

I would like to know this too. Also how to go about deleting what is i guess info in the registry about other plugs. My problem: a band member installed his version of kontakt on my receptor (i had a receptor but not kontakt, he had kontakt but not a receptor!) But now i own kontakt but everytime i try to authorise it still has the info from the previously uninstalled konatkt and wont let me authorise. How can i fix this?

You can use Regedit on the Receptor to delete out old serial numbers if you need to authorize something using a different serial number than it was originally installed under.Atardecer wrote:I would like to know this too. Of course, you have to have Regedit enabled/installed on the Receptor to do this

Yeah...
I'm not into installing something else to accomplish this, and no one has really answered my question about deleting plug-ins from Receptor's own GUI.

JV, Muse can create you a "fixer" that erases the serial number from the registry....they did this for me one time long ago before I had regedit. Just open a ticket on plugorama and keep after themJayVee wrote:Yeah...

I have found that uninstalling plugins through the interface sometimes does NOT clean up files. For instance, my original RevB came with MTron pre-installed (demo). When I uninstalled it, it partially worked, but left a LOT of MTRON files laying around. A year later, I bought MTron and then it would not install because it had never been fully installed. Turned out, it was a permissions thing, and after gaining root access I was able to clean this up with a bunch of linux commands (RPM I think, and a bunch of cdmod's)....basically to manually remove packages and directories left over from the uninstall that only partially worked.
Sorry, I know this isn't very helpful!

In short, you have to connect a monitor and keyboard, login as root, and edit /etc/sysconfig/receptor

Hi Atardecer!
I just want to know: which version did you friend install on your Receptor, and which version do you want to install over?
Thanks for your response! I think I have quite the same problem...
