You know it's good when the Moog Foundation puts a seal of approval on it.BERFAB wrote:Just got this month's copy of Recording Magazine. On page 72 is a two page spread reviewing SampleMOOG. Our pals at Sonic Reality are prominently featured as the devs of this fine product. A very positive review, with very high marks for execution of concept, sound quality, and ease of programming.

Part of the condition of any deal like that is the cooperation and approval of quality and overall product plan. I put together the "Moog Sample Library" deal with Moog when Bob was still alive. Then when he passed it became more of an homage and Michelle Moog, his daughter who runs the foundation, really loved it even more. Mike Adams and his team at Moog Music were very concerned about the quality being up to their standards and they are very pleased with how it came out. I am sure it would be EASIER if we could just "pay for a name" but most companies will not let you just put their name on it unless they are confident it is a good thing for their image. It's not like they make SO much money from it that they can afford to not worry about the quality of the product and just "cash in the chips". This is still relatively an esoteric market... but a cool one!Sequent wrote:I don't know about that - hopefully it's true. I always rather thought it just meant that IK/Sonic Reality paid whatever it is to license the use of the name.
At any rate, in this particular case I'm very pleased with the vibe that this instrument has.

Just to put a little exclamation point on this, I want to add the following:Squids wrote: If you guys don't have SampleMoog yet what are you waiting for?
