Actually it isn't random. There's a little joke in there. IIRC it playes the notes C E B r A where r is a random note.BERFAB wrote: but the note assignment when you play a key will become random.

If you think the demo limit is creative, you should see what happened to a few wiseguys who tried to use a crack version.Teksonik wrote:Echo Voodoo wrote:experimenting with the sound design possibilities.I fell for it like a first day newbie. When I downloaded the Zebra demo of course I didn't bother to read about it at all. I just loaded it up and started making a preset since I'm more interested in how much fun a synth is to program rather than the presets it comes with. So I'm tweaking away at knobs and arps what not and I notice that there is no noise burst or dropout like other demos. I figure cool, it's just going to time out after ten minutes or so. I'm feverishly trying to get a preset done before it times out and all of a sudden the notes start getting all weird. I thought I must have routed an lfo to pitch or something stupid but found nothing in the routing to cause a pitch change. I came here to post about it when I saw the sticky about the demo limitations. DOH.
I'm so glad I didn't pull a real newbie and post "Hey man Zebra's buggy, the notes are all messed up".
I remember reading comments about it. I don't suppose there's a video around showing the effect?BERFAB wrote:If you think the demo limit is creative, you should see what happened to a few wiseguys who tried to use a crack version.![]()
Urs is the best. Entertaining on so many levels...
I don't recall video. But I do recall reading excerpts from some very angry hacker posts.Echo Voodoo wrote:I remember reading comments about it. Today I had a small herd of ZebraCMs loaded in my torture rack, testing a revelation shared by a local midi mad scientist, when out of the blue, notes of every sickening pitch and interval started flying every which way...I knew it wasn't the Zebra2 demo, so panic set in, when reloading host and herd had no effect.Teksonik wrote:Echo Voodoo wrote:experimenting with the sound design possibilities.I fell for it like a first day newbie. Good idea... I could create one... but for now here's what it looks like after a couple of minutes:Echo Voodoo wrote:I don't suppose there's a video around showing the effect?

my mobile normally ends up on my keyboard triggering black keys as & when it pleases itglokraw wrote:Turns out I had a couple of books stacked on the end of the keyboard, and they were tetering against the mod wheel, and every little vibration from playing was randomly rocking the wheel, and pushing me closer and closer to the edge![]()
