Zebrify > /zee - brai - fai/
Zebrafy > /zee - bre - fai/
to me at least, so the second is easier... plus it keeps the name of the synth clear!

Haven't you received the memo? To be cool the "f" sound needs to use the "ph" spelling as in "phat."
So I vote "Zebraphi" See how much phatter that is? It's borderline phly.... hmmm Zebraphly?
Word.

Meriam Webster online does not list -afy, but does list -ify which links to -fy:
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/-ify
This does not prove that -afy is wrong, but that using it would send a destabilizing shock wave through the dictionary world <<shudders>>.

urs, since you mentioned the synthesis remains, does this mean there'll be audio-triggering of some sort as well? That would be amazing!

I'm not yet sure... we'll see... but I guess for the first incarnation, simple audio input and the merged Grid must be enough...Mighty Pea wrote:urs, since you mentioned the synthesis remains, does this mean there'll be audio-triggering of some sort as well? That would be amazing!

Urs, 'must be enough for anyone'.
You should know better than that by now!
I know that there's a difference between what you can deliver reasonably in a short timeframe and plans for the future, but you should never utter 'should be enough' again!
I have seen several times in Z2's development of people trying to do really crazy things that had to be worked on and improved in Zebra, perhaps not necessarily because of bugs, but because it's one of those 'boy, that's a great creative use I didn't think of before' moment.
Don't limit creativity.
That's what non-modular synths do.

Wait, Urs is already using phly talk!
"This is a phantastic bank of patches - check out the demo tunes!"
See? I already want those patches way more!

In America we'd call it zebra-fi, like hi-fi or wi-fi.
Then again soon our dollars will be worthless so don't mind us.

As long as it's not "Zebra-izer", everything's all right.
