Well, I open this thread to have a place where gathering request for new features.
Well, it's not brand new features I want, but ameliorations :
- the name of the current composition must appears somewhere...
- there must be a way to quickly select a composition...

A new request :
There must be an "assign Midi controller" option in the transport bar (for the play, record, forward, rewind and loop controls at least).
What is the "midi controler map" for ? it's always empty, and you can't do anything in it ???

I probably should have brought this up long before now, but oh well...
I felt it was better now than never since Jo is working on the sampler now and it has to do with that.
Before I go on, let me be honest and say that I don't think of this as being truely important, and more than likely most folks would share the same feeling.
Would there be any chance at any time for the integrated sampler to have a step-sequencer? (Preferably one that was much like the Redrum in Reason, in that it goes up to at least 64 steps.) Personally, I'd LOVE that, but again, it's not something I could define as "important". I certainly don't know how difficult or annoying it would be to code and do well so as not to ramp up CPU usage, but seeing as how there are so few VSTis with the feature, and almost none in the freeware market it makes me think it must be a real pain in the ass.
Thoughts?
Decent idea?
Silly?
Useful?
Cool?
Insane and pointless?

Im sure the integrated sampler will use the piano scroll as the sequencer, which in my opinion, is more powerful than Reason's redrum step sequencer. Unlimited steps of customized goodnessMachFront wrote:Would there be any chance at any time for the integrated sampler to have a step-sequencer?

Probably somewhat like the Muzys sampling system worked??? I hope.....

Yes, indeed, you can send your sequences in the composer towards the sampler.
And thus you can use all goods of the sequence editor to build such sampler-sequences.
So, conceptually, it will indeed work very similar as in TAFKAM
And some more info on the next MU.LAB:
In fact, the core sampler engine is already working fine, technically.
But there are still quite some workflow aspects which must be finetuned carefully. And it's not only about the sampler.
I won't go into details here because that doesn't make sense at this time.
I admit that developing the next MU.LAB takes more time than expected.
It's always difficult to accurately estimate development time...
... especially when prioritizing Quality.
Currently i still cannot give a precise ETA, except that i absolutely want to release it before summertimes, i.e. at latest at the end of june.
Anyway, the good news is that the next MU.LAB will be a very nice new version!
And i'm doing my best to get it ready as soon as possible.

Well, what I meant was for it to also have a step sequencer as an option to using the piano roll. I figured it would use the piano roll... that's a given.ApBTranCer wrote:Im sure the integrated sampler will use the piano scroll as the sequencer, which in my opinion, is more powerful than Reason's redrum step sequencer. I also like step sequencing.
I know already how this should be implemented, but don't have the dev-time to do it right now.
So please ping me on this lateron, when 2.0 is out.

No problem.
Yeah, I figured it may be something that would take you a while. I know you must be workin' your butt off right now, Jo.
Lookin' forward to the release of the next version.
