Hello Urs,

Great sounding stuff!

I am ready to purchase Filterscape, to use it in Logic 8 in Leopard on MacPro 3Ghz tower.
But I have two questions:

A: after reading a pdf from Messe seems like it is better wait until version 1.5....? Or it will be a free update to a current version 1.2 buyer?

B: I noticed you have Hotfixes for Leopard to resolve entering registration issue. Will it be fixed in 1.5 along with perhaps other Logic 8 on Leopard related issues? If yes - what are those that will be improved or fixed?

Thank you so much - Filterscape sounds awesome!

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Urs,

Just got my Filterscape! Love it!

By the way, my best friend Scott Tibbs hooked me up with info on Filterscape :-)
We work together here in R-US. He sends his Big Hello!
I guess we will see you at Winter NAMM 2009 :-)

Thank you for a cool app!

I have a pre-purchase question of my own...

When I buy filterscape on tuesday (when my macbook pro is due to arrive), will the filterscape I download include the leopard hotfix or will I have to install that one too?

You should download & install the leopard hotfix instead of the official version. Actually, you should check out the stuff in demo mode first and see how it goes *before* any purchase!

Oh, ok. I didn't realize that the hotfix was a whole version as opposed to a "patch" that had to be installed on top of the other one.

I suppose I will download the demo before I buy. I already have demoed it extensively on tiger with my old iMac and love it, but it certainly could help to make sure Leopard+Logic 8 doesn't break it.

I'd like to say that the EQ and the synth that come bundled with Filterscape are both equally outstanding. Just my $.02.

Post

PLUS ONE! I love Filterscape and the VA is so underrated! It is a very cool synth.

Post

yeah, the quality of the VA was one of the things that really stood out when I demo'd it.

I was thinking of getting the fabfilter bundle at the time (volcano, timeless, twin... This was before pro-C came out) but came to the conclusion that I liked the options in filterscape better than Volcano and Twin... And it's far cheaper!

For some reason I've never gotten around to demoing MFM2... I'll have to try that too when my new mac shows up...

I just recently purchased MFM2 and had some issues running it in Leopard and Cubase 4 on a brand new MacPro. I posted my issues on this forum and within a day or two he had a fix for me, UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am absolutely loving MFM2 and I was actually interested in Filterscape and Zebra as well, even though Zebra looks a little "time-consuming" to me. Gotta give Filterscape a try I guess. One can never have too many filters. :)

just a word of advice...

When you demo filterscape, try out the EQ section, morphing between snapshots, in the 4 bandpass filter mode. Probably the most fun you can have with filterscape is right there. Formant CITY.

Unless you do that with the EQ in the delay feedback path. That could be more fun.

I agree about Zebra seeming "time consuming"... But I think it might be worth learning. I am definitely impressed enough with filterscape to spend much more time demo'ing the other two u-he plugs...

I've got a whole bunch of synths and sound-manglers but a lot of them are CPU hungry. Filterscape just mangles the hell out of thing in the most beautiful way. I'm loving it. I'd love Zebra too - but I better save some pennies for it. Good on you, Urs. It was a bunch of your posts on these threads that convinced me to buy both Filterscape and MFM. Now back to mangling - why I don't know.

Filterscape is my 'go to' everything, pretty much. After using it for so long now (got it right after it was released) it's like 2nd nature. It's easy to dial in dope sounds with the VA, the filter screws my audio up in the most pleasantly insane ways and the EQ is just a gimme. Wish it could just cook me breakfast too. Speaking of which....

Well I'll be back here for some tips, if you don't mind rlahalla. I hardly know anything about these things besides how to load a preset!

It's 12:05am here in Australia and I've got Bootcamp at 5am, so I'd better stop mangling. I've already had 2 hours of mangling - which has easy been worth my AU$150 - even if Urs was to physically take it off me right now. I'm using these sound manglers for a ghost character that appears in a feature film I'm involved with. Plus I'm mangling music / atmospheres on a series of short Documentaries I'm doing.

What fun this is! I feel like I've just made friends with a bit of software. Right. Bed. Then after Bootcamp - more fun. I'm wagging* work to play with this puppy ALL day tomorrow...

*In Oz, "wagging" means skiving off (taking a sick day).
