Does Receptor have zero latency?

Looking at one this week and was curious if I could run it as either a zero latency effects unit/synth (probably what it was made for).

Also if it does run at 0, does this apply to all effects (even ones with built in latency)?

Thanks for any info.

As a synth? No. The lowest I've measured as a synth is 4.5ms. I don't use mine as effects unit but I would guess you you will have some delay again dependent on buffer settings; it's just the nature of computer audio at present. In fairness I've never measured any computer setup lower than a receptor so 5ms is at the moment about as low as you can go in a conventional computer setup. Hardware synths can get down to the 2-3ms range. Also keep in mind that for synths midi itself will take about 1ms to travel anyways so you are already delayed to start with. Also consistency of latency to me is just as important; this is where the Receptor shines. And don't believe what your sound card control panel or any manufacturer tells you. I've tested alot of gear and things don't get any lower than this unless I missed something very special.

Not stock but if you get the timetravel option it can predict what you are going to play before you play it and compensate for any plugin latency thus giving you zero latency.

Laws of physics is wussies.Real men don't bother with that shite.

Since I play the same tired licks over and over, that shouldn't be hard.
