My guess would be that personal/family issues, illness or something similar has caused this sudden lack of communication and updates. In my experience, this is one of the more common reasons when one-man development "teams" disappear like this. I've seen it before (but that time it was not a plugin developer). Even if you're busy coding all day, taking five minutes off to post an update in the forum wouldn't be a problem.

I think it's best to just forget about Sylenth and the €140 spent and use some other plugins for now, or use the old version if it works fine. Mac users should also forget about the product for now. Maybe Lennard will check back in a week, maybe in 6 months, maybe never.. But sitting around this forum waiting and complaining won't do much good.

I agree. Whatever reason for lack of information/development, there is not much that haven't been said. Although, this thread can be useful for users considering buying it.

If I was Lennard I wouldn't show up here also !!

Darn, You guys behave like childeren !

Do you really think Lennard is betraying everyone ?

So Lennard first works 1,5 year on completing Sylenth1 for nothing !!
After that he get some money, and then suddenly he will disappear ?!?
Then you are even dumber then I thought !

Ever thought about how much work it is to program this thing in your OWN ??
Where Steinberg, Native Instruments are working with more people, Lennard is doing everything on it's own !!

Just wait and relax !

I think he can use all time he wants...

The only thing is: For me I want to know that something is going on. I am a patient user cause I am waiting even half a year now for the bugfix for FLStudio. But if I see nothing anymore I am unsure if my investigation was ok. If I don't read something about him or from him I will sell my copy away...

I think most people can accept it if the new version is delayed. It seems most are upset because of the lack of information, not by the fact that Q1 has passed without the promised non-SE version.

I don't want to do damage to sales or anything, but *in my experience*, when a one-man software company stops posting updates and disappears like this, it's usually not a good sign. It's now a month since Lennard posted at all..and the official website hasn't been updated for ages. How long does it take to log in and write "Hi! Sorry about the delay. All is well and I'm still working on the new version".. Not many seconds. I don't think we've been "betrayed", but it's possible that circumstances have prevented him from continuing work on the new version or even get online to post. Anything at this point is just wild speculations however. Now if the official website was to disappear because of unpaid hosting bills, then we know it's time to get seriously worried.

Just wondering how you were doing man. Are you still working on the next version of Sylenth1? The guys at KVR are getting REALLY anxious to hear from you - some think you have been bought/hired by NATIVE INSTRUMENTS.

If you have a few moments could you respond in kind to this thread:

grymmy
you cant complain if you dont try to contact the guy besides through this forum. some people dont use the forum and especially if i was a busy dev, i would avoid the hell out of it ;)

I guess there you have it then, lol.

Seriously though... especially with the small developers, I'm sure that it's a lot of work and perhaps not that much profit in the end. I'm sure most of these guys have their 'day jobs' just like the person from SonicBytes had and just like some of us have. Then, as was mentioned, the possibility of personal things going on and just life in general. Or maybe being bought out by the big guys.

Who knows?

If you're using Sylenth1 and it works - as it does here for me at the moment. Then everything is cool. But I think the thing is to never purchase something based on things promised in the future. Not from a big developer, and not from a small developer either. I think a cautious "believe it when you see it" stance is probably not a bad thing. Cautiously optimistic. Future possible features or platforms are always a great thing and there are some developers who have been rock solid and fantastic at communicating, but still there are never any guarantees.

Certainly if you bought a product and it's functioning then that is the bottom line. But I think as a customer one always feels better knowing that the developer is around and doing well, and possibly working on new enhancements, new products. Or if the developer has ceased operations or is on hiatus, that is nice to know too. They don't necessarily OWE it to us, but as was said, even a quick couple sentences message is always a nice thing. Communication is key in any sort of business endeavor.

I guess I'm saying this having gone through at least two instances recently, with SonicBytes and Spin Audio where the developer has gone poof without any sort of communication to the user. What this does is make me think twice or several times before committing to a purchase. If the item is cool and does what I want it to do right out of the box, then that's cool. But if it isn't quite finished yet and the purchase is partially based on potential then I am certainly much more likely to take a pass on it.

In that way this sort of thing hurts other small developers too, if you see what I mean.

He may just be on a holiday.

Let's wait and see, and enjoy Sylenth1 in the meantime.

Btw, Reaper and FL were the only hosts that had problems with Sylenth1, and Justin Frankel got Reaper fixed (something about effIdle or something).

Does Sylenth1 still not work properly in FL 7 or 8 ? You may want to send the FL devs to Justin. I'm sure he'll share what he did.

Now that's a point I hadn't considered. Good call.

I thought it was working okay in FL7 now, but I haven't tried it in FL8 yet. Will do so this weekend.

I do love the sound and vibe of this synth btw.

Sylenth1 has some issues still in Sonar and in Project5. In Sonar the major problem where it would crash with more than one instance was fixed with the Sonar 7.02 update.

However there is still problems in both hosts where both Project5 and Sonar seem to suffer from a "jumping" during playback.

I have tried to contact Lennard myself to no success, I sincerely hope that things are ok with him, from both a personal and synth side viewpoint.

That is the exact problem Reaper had. Stutter playback.

I posted about when Reaper had this fixed here in our support forum, so if you want to point the Sonar people to a possible fix, they can see what Justin did in the changelog around the day I posted here, which I did minutes after verifying that Sylenth1 worked flawlessly in Reaper.

Still no answer from the message I sent on April 21st. If he went on holiday it would have been nice to let everyone know that service will not be available during that time.
