BR: Zebra & eXT1.4

Hello there
sorry if this is the wrong place to post BR.
I've got a project in eXT1.4 (on Windows XP) with 8 instances of Zebra. They're all loaded with the Zebra Oldskool demo presets.
There's also one audio track, a bounce from one of the midi tracks.
One of the Zebra instances is loaded with the hi-hat preset.
First problem: Zebra won't remember the xy assign midilearn settings when closing and reopening the host. Even if I save the preset under another name.
Second problem: When I do the midilearn process for XY1 again, then press "play" in the eXT sequencer, the XY1 ball moves like it should, but Zebra crashes the host if I close the GUI while the sequencer is still playing.
i can provide the project if needed.

Hey,
Which version of Zebra are you using?
Try http://www.u-he.com/Z2_Win240408.zip (.dll only, soon to be updated again and made publicly available anyway)
Cheers,
Urs

Cheers Urs, I'm using v 2.2 I think (don't know how to see this in the GUI), I thought the more recent versions were beta so I hadn't installed them ... will do now, thanks!

OK XY presets are remembered with this version of the dll but the crash still occurs.

Then I'd reckon the crash isn't necessarily my fault... the current version doesn't crash anywhere else...dacaumodo wrote:OK XY presets are remembered with this version of the dll but the crash still occurs.

Well, I don't know.Urs wrote:Then I'd reckon the crash isn't necessarily my fault... the current version doesn't crash anywhere else...dacaumodo wrote:OK XY presets are remembered with this version of the dll but the crash still occurs.
Perhaps it's the fact that I have 8 instances of Zebra in this project? In any case the crash is easily reproducible and consistent on my machine, and it occurs as soon as I close the Zebra GUI. There are no other plug-ins in this project.
I renew my offer to make the project available.

Just started another project from scracth: 8 instances of Zebra. 7 instances have the init patch loaded, the 8th one has the Zebra OldSkool drums hi-hat preset loaded. Everything fine as long as I don't record XY automation. Then I record automation on XY1, play it back, with the GUI open, automation playing back normally, and when I close the GUI, eXT crashes.
odd.
odd.

Yes, odd... will look into it. I literally have no energy though at the moment.
Can anybody reproduce this on another host?

OK to save people time, I (re)created the following eXT 1.4 test project:
http://vimcortez.free.fr/tracks/zebrabugpr.ext
8 instances of Zebra, all with the init patch; automation assigned and recorded on first instance, crash occurs when closing Zebra GUI while playing back tune.
There's a workaround though: stopping playback before closing Zebra GUI.
Sorry, the midi notes on this project are perfectly random.

Try following things and see if problem still there:dacaumodo wrote:OK to save people time, I (re)created the following eXT 1.4 test project:

clear the xy controls, do some automation on the modules.
still the same then try this
change play mode to poly on global page (meaning get rid of arp function)
record a hihat pattern played by fingers and automate it.
still the same try this
turn of all output FX meaning EQ, reverb etc...
still the same then i'm clueless atm.

Hi Michael,
I mentioned which presets were loaded in my first post here, but in the meantime
I tried with the init preset and got the same results. So I don't think presets have anything to do with this crash.
I think it might have to do with the GUI when the XY ball is moving. In m y test project above, only the intance that has xy automation crashes eXT when I close the GUI while the sequencer is playing, not the others.
In the test project above, there are only "Init" presets, mode is set to poly for all instances. Everything is recorded by hand or through piano roll. There was no automation at first, I assigned and recroded myself. And still get the crash described.
Do you have eXT1.4?

Thanks Michael. Here I'm on Win XP with Asio4all too.
I just checked and I'm getting the crash even with only one instance of Zebra.
Mmmh. Anybody else getting this?
