you are using the latest beta dll with with 2.2 install?

i would try using the latest beta install (its in one of the stickies in this forum) then using that dll,

if you want someone to test the ext file send me a PM & i'll give you my email address,

i did a few Zebra projects in XT1.4 & all was well (using around 12 zebras) but that was before Z2.2

He's using the one that's even later than the one posted in the other thread... see my first reply on this thread...

I have a suspicion, but I'm currently working on way other ends...

i think you misunderstood my post,

i meant,

is he using the dll you posted with the 2.2 install, (instead of the beta install)

after installing the beta thats posted in this forum (to test SSE2 bug in latest beta) the old Z2.2 dll dose not work, there for the installer dose something different in the beta than the 2.2 installer?

good luck with what ever your working on ;)

@ Subz,

I'm not sure I understand your question (too much beer last night) but what I did was simply that I replaced the dll I had in my Zebra folder(v 2.2 I think), with the one Urs suggested I tried (v. 2.2.1b5). However, crash occured before and after I made the swap, in exactly the same conditions.

Zebra works, but I still get the crash, even with only one instance loaded. If you want to try, here's a test project:

http://vimcortez.free.fr/tracks/zebrabugpr.ext

There are 8 instances of Zebra in that one, because I thought perhaps the crash had to do with the number of instances, but now I have found it occurs even with one instance only.

To test, open project, start sequencer playback, open GUI of first Zebra instance (the one that has automation running), and then close it without stopping playback in sequencer. On my machine, it crashes eXT 1.4 systematically.

@ mkastrup:

Yes, Zebra crashed XT2 (v2.07) too. I haven't tried on my two other DAWs yet (T2 and Reaper), will do later.

No it hasn't happened to another synth before (at the moment I'm struggling with an odd Poly-ana bug, but it's completely different, a pitchwheel action problem), although I can't claim to have tried recording automation with all my synths.

I just did a test with Synth1 in eXT1.4 and I get no problems recording automation, playing back and closing Zebra GUI while playing back. In exactly the same project, if I replace Synth1 with Zebra loaded with a preset that has XY automation assigned, and if I close Zebra GUI while playing back, eXT1.4 crashes immediately.

On this machine I've got an AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor 3800+ 2.01 GhZ, 1 gig ram
Graphic card: Radeon x1300 series
Windows XP Pro SP2

update: no crash occuring in Reaper or Tracktion 2.

I've not been able to reproduce this in XT 1.4 using your test project. I can open and close repeatedly the first Zebra gui while the seq is playing and does not crash. I have an ancient AMD 2500, and am surprised it even played 8 Zebra's.

I have just tested, as described above, on 3 PCs running Energy XT1.1.4.1 and Zebra 2.2:-

Intel Dual Core 6600 2.4GHz 512MB Windows XP SP2
AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.81 GHz 512MB Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4 3Ghz 1GB Windows XP SP1

No crashes or any problems on any machine. Makes me think of trying out EnergyXT1 as my main sequencer again and ditching my crappy old Cubase VST5!
Windows 10. Asus X99-Pro i7 6950X 10 Core 3GHz (Overclocked to 3.5GHz). Corsair DDR4 64GB Vengeance LPX 2400MHz. RME RayDAT. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. UAD2 Quad+Octo. Reaper. A couple of plugins.

Update:

I get the same crash in eXT 1.4 on my other computer, a Pentium 4 3.00 GHz, 2 gig ram, Win XP Pro SP2, Nvidia graphic card , audio card M-Audio Delta Audiophile.

I tried copying the zebra dll to another location and loading it from there to see if it made a difference (in case the problem came from what's in my u-he folder) but it crashed anyway.

Any leads?

Don't close Zebra gui while eXT is running, until further notice. Stop host upon intent to close gui. Save project often.

Best I can think of for now

this one is super strange!

its only you (so far) thats having this problem, but its on two PC's :o

makes it ultra hard for poor old urs to track down & fix!

can you think of anything your two PC's have in common that might be a factor?

Hmm you got some older versions of zebra ?, try with the oldest you can get your hands on and work your way up in versions until the bug appears. That is, IF its a later issue ;)

You could try try minihost from toby bear and see if problem is there too-
