If you have the no dongle version, you need to have the computer connected to Internet. And, each time you transfer to another computer you have to re-authorize, that means connecting again to their license server; not exactly much friendly IMHO... Linplug is going the same route with its forthcoming RM V and Albino 3...

You have TO HOOK YOUR COMPUTER TO THE INTERNET?! Holy crap! Had I known I'd have marched right over to the Syncrosoft offices and pooped right on their lawn! ;)

I turn my wireless on from time to time to get authorizations and really, it's no big deal at all.

That's what I've been told; at this point, I much prefer getting a USB key and carrying the license(s) on it, IMHO a DAW should never be hooked to Internet, both for tuning (no firewall, no unneeded services) AND isolation purposes.

or me, those changes are total bullshit. I use Rob's insrument only in my studi, but they are on two computers (FXTelport) to enable me to balac the load quick an easily.

With the switch to a dongle, I would need TWO licenses for every single synth to be able to keep my setup.

Before I do that, I will drop his and Linplug's synths, as much as I like them. This is a blow in my face.

I wish u-he software would license his great method of protection so successfull on Zebra 2, based only on key codes and careful and wise programming...

No hardware connection, no internet connection, just sly usage of software hack detection techniques...

I'd change that to "a DAW should rarely and carefully be hooked to the internet." I've never had a virus or issue. I'm behind a hardware firewall and I keep my wireless disabled until I need to go to a specific site for an authorization. As soon as I'm done I turn it off in both the software settings and hardware (my laptop has a wireless switch) It's really not so hard. If you're really paranoid you can use an ethernet cable and yank it when you're done.

@darem: Rob personally replied to your (IMO needlessly hostile) post in his forum with a polite and helpful response. You really ought to read it. You ought to be pleased.

By all means get Zebra as well -- the more independent developers who get business, the better, and Urs is a marvelous guy who makes excellent software. But don't trash-talk a dev who's going out of his way to help you, 'kay? Rob's even kinder and more even-tempered than I, and that's saying a lot. :-}

Meffy. I couldn't have said this better. You are the king of mods.

Aw shux.

Don't always succeed, but I try to keep cool and work toward solving problems when possible. Sometimes people who come across as angry or mean-spirited just happened to post while in a bad mood. I try to "give the benefit of the doubt" -- that is, assume I don't know everything about the situation and plough ahead as if the person had been more, erm, moderate in tone. Often enough it's just frustration that makes people post while feeling hot, and when they learn there's a solution that suits them they return to a calmer, less confrontational mood.

I did... I purchased Zebra2.
John-E34 wrote:Another Zebra customer.... Just purchased Zebra-2, (Urs's support in this forum is astounding)

Hopefully, it will not take too long to make Zebra be Blue :?

Thanks for the comments, but after reading through many of the topics in this forum, I could see no reason to 'not' purchase :hihi:

G'day Urs.
Thanks for the kind words anyway

I wrote this before Rob replied. And I just came home right now, so I haven't even seen what he replied, I will check it asap.

Regarding Zebra: Guess who owns Zebra as well as MFM2? :-)

I support each and every good developer with cash. Zebra is a helluva machine, and its greatness shows with some 3rd party presets even more :-)
