For what you're wanting to do, I find it pretty uniquely capable. A delay could do what you're asking for, ofcourse, but this has multiple layers in one interface, and a slightly more unique sound when you play around with the setting. I also love the fade-in, despite it not really being long enough for some of my needs. If Oli'd update this to cater to more of my needs, I'd certainly buy it!

Elottronix used to be my go to tape style looper until Augustus Loop got ported to XP. Honestly I never quite liked it's interface. I could care less about seeing "reels" when the stuff I wanted was all tiny and squished on the bottom.

Spektral Monkeyage does the best job so far. It really grabs a snapshot of the sound going thru it's input and then loops it seemlessly into a sustain. It also does so without changing the tone of the audio too much. I wish it didn't have so much latency.

Time Freezer looks good too, but it sounds very distance and foggy.

I used to do that live using a kaoss pad 2(sampling and using the fx 90 (sample with reduction by the end) to get the buzz
now I use my KP3 with the Granulizer effect
