Thanks for the FL patch link. Man I hate the Image Line forums, web site, etc... but the update fixes a lot of broken stuff.

Very dirty, sir... very dirty indeed.

The only criticism I can come up with is GUI related: the dropdown controls are kind of awkward to use. If you want to preview all the dirtifier or ringmod types, you have to click in the right place, wait for the menu to pop up, move the mouse down to the item you want and click again... little arrow buttons to just choose next/previous options are much faster. Or the kind of fast popup that appears on mousedown, hover over the item you want, and mouseup to select it and close the popup.

(Also, multiband Dirtbox would kick major ass... but that can be set up with multiple instances and some filters anyway.)

thanks for your feedback foosnark, I always appreciate input, it comes in handy for future plugins / updates

the dropdown vs nudge buttons is something I've pondered over before, but it's one of those things that comes down to personal preference. I also had the request in the opposite direction because a dropdown allows you to see all of the options available before choosing, rather than having to increment through them all and then increment back around to your prefered choice. I'll see if I can't combine both options in future projects though.

On a multiband version, it's certainly possible. Would you imagine that it is;

- essentially a duplicate/triplicate of the entire plugin so you can edit all the controls for each band independantly and have totally different compression/distortion on each band

- one set of controls to set the default compresion/distortion, but you control the wet/dry mix for each band so each band has a different amount of the default applied

- something else

I was thinking one set of controls, but wet/dry mixes for each band. The former option might just be too much, I dunno.

I agree, 3 mix levels it is. It's on my list, along with a different request for a LP and HP filter on the dirtifier section. No promises on time scale, I have quite a few things in progress I need to finish first

Cool. :)

This is probably my favorite effect plugin ever, sounds great on the master bus slot, I like my songs cheap and intense. Any good synth can sound super intense with the distortion, bit crush, ring mod in variations.

As a rock guitarist I like my distortion.

good lord, eveb your oft-communicating erstwhile collaborator is aghast at your newfound updating skills!

pfilter2 and gator2, which I installed but haven't tested, at least look really awesome!

I love it, I used it to dirtify the opening phrase (and it's repetition) in my most recent music cafe song but not as a special effect, that'll come later. I got too wrapped up in playing with it.

hehe, corrected now, easy mistaka to maka, you both start with Run :)

Oh yeah... I noticed one more weird thing about it. In FLStudio, if you don't hit play, the ringmod and dirtifier sections just silence the input. I can work with that but it's occasionally awkward.

I just made the coolest rhythmic ringy steam-chugging noise though with two instances of AccuVerb, one of Dirtbox 3 and one of DubStation... it's going to show up in a track somewhere I'm sure :)
