I'm curious, what is sample scanning?

You know how you can preview presets within a VST and select one to your liking? Well, sample scanning works the same way which allows you to preview/select any samples within the folder a sample was loaded from.


One way i like to use this is i create a drum groove using whatever samples. I press play and as the groove is playing, i am previewing different drum samples on the fly selecting the ones that i feel sound best for that particular groove. It's great workflow.

I think he means the "preview in kit" function of many samplers.
one of them is Shortcircuit 2 (it's called "replace" there).

all I'm waiting for is the "warp" grid. where you take a MIDI file and apply it's groove to a MIDI takes grid.

Forgot about SC2. Yeah, i call it sample scanning but "preview samples in kit" would have been a better way to explain it.
