Hello

I found a weird bug today (I guess I should/could have spotted it before):

when I use the modwheel on any preset, the relevant parameter is affected, but then letting the modwheel go back to normal doesn't take the relevant parameter to its initial setting but rather to full left or 0.00.

I wonder if this happens to you anybody else?

I use an Edirol PCR-M30 keyboard (USB to midi) and Windows XP Pro.

[edit: the "bug" - still not sure it is a bug, perhaps I have to change the keyboard settings - occurs both in eXT 1.4 and Reaper; will test in Tracktion later, and also on another machine that has a soudncard with midi in rather than usb to midi.]

I don't quite understand yet... are you talking about MidiLearn or about using a modulation slot on the Synthesis page?

Post

I'm talking about the seemingly "hard-wired" modulation function on some presets.
Some presets have (apparently) parameters that are already mapped to the modwheel (without me doing anything in the mod matrix). That's where the behaviour I described occurs.
I suppose when pushed full up, my Modwheel sends "full up" messages, and when released (it has a spring) probably sends "full down" or "zero" messages, apparently overriding the initial setting for the relevant paramater.

I hope I'm not to confusing. To take an example, say I have a preset with LFO1 to OSC pitch; say for this preset, the modwheel affects the rate of the LFO; say the LFO rate (in the synthesis view) is set to 14, for instance: pushing the modwheel full up pushes the parameter up to max value(100 or 150, can't remember what's the max numerical value) and when released, the modwheel takes back rate to zero instead of 14.

Am I doing something wrong ?

can you list the name of one of the factory presets that do this?

it could just be the way those presets where saved,

if you save the preset with the mod wheel in the middle it will be at that setting when you load that preset intill the mod wheel is moved, (AFAIK)

Sounds like an accidental Midilearn to me... just Midi-Unlearn the Rate knob...?

Post

Well it seemed to happen on most presets, but...

I MIDI unlearned once, on one preset, and it worked, apparently, for all the other presets. Maybe it was something in Zebra's INI file (if there is any?)

Thanks Subz and Urs, seems to work fine now (fingers crossed).

I was beginning to think maybe I'd have to buy a new midi controller.

BTW can reiterate how much Zebra f**king ROCKS?

This plugin is amazing, as they say somewhere.
