The old thread was a bit long and the old "nexts" have been delivered.

i'm looking forward to the default project. hopefully we'll be able to start up with the default, as an option in the "Start with" menu.

Hey, do you all still have proper Ext2 project icons ?
Last time i installed a .exe file (= non beta, which are simple files to drag & drop), it broke my ext2 icons affiliation, and now all my Ext2 projects are shown like if they were .rtf files...
Am I the only one ?

Yeah, the default project is a good thing. I'm sure we'll be able to startup with it since that's what "default" is all about.
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

I'm quite sure XT2 setup doesn't associate project icons with its project files. I guess you did that manually sometime via 'Open with'/'Choose program...'/'Browse...' and then choosing XT2 exe file name and check 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'. Could be that you did this with a renamed exe (e.g. 'energyXT2 2.04.exe') and when you updated you decided to use the standard name and deleted the old renamed exe.sinkmusic wrote:Hey, do you all still have proper Ext2 project icons ?

...or something similar.
So to have the the project icons back, just use 'Open with'/'Choose program...'/'Browse...' to select the energyXT2 executable file and be sure to check the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' checkbox.

But but i am requesting Ext2 to do it natively.kirtap910 wrote:I'm quite sure XT2 setup doesn't associate project icons with its project files.
Yes, but making Ext2 (not beta) an .exe broke the association.kirtap910 wrote:I guess you did that manually sometime via 'Open with'/'Choose program...'/'Browse...' and then choosing XT2 exe file name and check 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'. I didn't decide anything, i had no choice.
It is rather awkward.
Re-doing it is a true pain in the _ss !kirtap910 wrote:So to have the the project icons back, just use 'Open with'/'Choose program...'/'Browse...' to select the energyXT2 executable file and be sure to check the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' checkbox.
I tried again 4 times without any success.
