Hi there,
I'm interested in a receptor to ease burden on the PC and have just been looking at the Plugorama website and couldn't see whether or not the Arturia synths are supported. I figured they should be because they're such a big name so maybe someone here can help me out with this.
Regards

Thanks for replying so quickly! - I'm still interested! - Reading about NI having a pre-installed Komplete 5 on Receptor, couldn't Arturia have this done on receptor?

Most Arturia stuff uses USB dongles. They wont work with the Receptor OS.

I'm waiting for this as well .. it's possible but I'm not too optimistic. Some folks here have managed to get the non-dongled arturia stuff (moog modular, 2600, cs80v) working, but the most recent installers/versions Arturia supplies don't work with the method(s) used unfortunately.fraz wrote:Thanks for replying so quickly! - I'm still interested! - Reading about NI having a pre-installed Komplete 5 on Receptor, couldn't Arturia have this done on receptor?
I have a Rev C w/ 2gb ram, and based on how some plugs eat up CPU on the receptor vs. my 2.1ghz iMac, I wonder how the arturia stuff will run on the receptor anyway. It will certainly be a major disappointment to wait a year or more for these synths to be able to be installed, and have them be basically unusable because receptor can't handle them. Arturia stuff is pretty heavy on the CPU.
You might consider buying a low-price PC dedicated to running those VSTs. If for live performance (like me), maybe a budget laptop.

Hello Fraz,
For the synth emulation line, Arturia has 3 products that require a dongle: Jupiter8V, ProphetV, and AnalogFactory. The other synths (MoogModularV, MinimoogV, CS80V, Arp2600V) do not require a synchrosoft dongle, and rely on verification using the install CD.
It is possible to get the 4 original synths running on Receptor (see here). This works if you have original installation discs (eg. *not* the analog collection bundle).
From my experiences, these all run very nicely on Receptor, and have pretty low CPU overhead. CS80V on Receptor is one of my favs!
Hope this helps, Regards,
Kevin L

Yes Hello looneytunes, and anyone else for that matter!
I have the Arturia Minimoog V which I bought ages ago now - Recently but still a while ago I bought the box collection (forgot the name ooo dear me
) so have another Minimoog V along with the rest of the synths on the limited edition box (or so they say).
Just checked the box and it's the V collection - (V for visitors
- only joking)!
I thought a Receptor would be the answer but after reading what someone else wrote about it being hungry I'm not so sure now. Either way it's either a dedicated PC or a receptor.
Thanks

From my experiences, I was able to install the (non-syncrosoft dongled) individual instrument installers. Others were not able to use my same methods to install the V collection.
If you install (say Modular Moog V, original install disk) - the engine ran smoothly, and changed presets fine from the Receptor interface. If you brought up the GUI editor, there were CPU spikes and some jumps in sound. If you were to update to the newer version (1.6 I think) by placing the new DLL on Receptor, and updating the authorization key (in regedit) - the new version did not display any of the CPU spikes or sound jumps in the GUI editor. Everything works fine.
In general, I find the upgraded Arturia synths run quite smoothly on receptor, and with lower CPU overhead than many fully supported synth emulations. I have made multis with 2-3 arturia synths (and other synths) without pushing the CPU bounds. If DirectInstall makes these synths easily installable on Receptor, I expect you will be able to do a simple install and see the same results that I get.
Hope that helps. Regards,
Kevin L
