howdy azrael! ...about the wish thing: I think you overestimate my super powers
I've listened to Doom Hop a few times and wow!...ya got some lo on that 8)
I knew I was gonna like it from the recipe ya gave. I know you're not finished, but that was too short, ya know
Thanks for this and do feel free to post more anytime!

Post

yes please stop teasing us with cookies, we want the cake! <grin>

Post

Thank you both for listening, but what's with all the cooking references?

If I ever finish something that I'm happy with, assuming I don't leave it in the oven too long, I'll be sure to post it. Too short? 1.5 minutes is kinda long for me ;-)

Cheers

Thanks for the AU version! I was really bummed when I first saw this as PC only...now I am only verifying operation in Logic+my set up before a definite purchase ;-)

Oliver Chesler AKA The Horrorist wrote some nice things about BDM in his blog:

Just to let you know :tu:

Hi PTV
and thanks for the report!

Thanks Loopy C for testing it carefully, I hope you'll enjoy it, <grin>

Any reports on anyone successfully wrapping BDM to rtas on OSX?
I'm not having much luck here. The wrapper looks ok but Pro Tools crashes bad.

thnx.

Post

Honestly I never tried that, but once I read that the rtas wrapper requires (still?) the plugin to be compatible with VST 2.3, BDM is not, it is VST 2.4.

You may ask the wrapper maker,

Post

Thanks for the quick reply. The wrapper maker sez:

"At the moment, we see no compelling reason to make a wrapper for VST 2.4 or 3. There are almost no worthwhile plug-in that are not 2.3-compatible (and furthermore, there is no good reason for them not to be 2.3-compatible!)"

Not looking good for me I guess.

Any chance you might make BDM rtas?

Post

Hi,

sorry BDM rtas is very unlikely, possibly I will add 2.3 compatibility to BDM, but I can't tell when it will be be, anyway I will annouce here on teh forum any update.

We know who that wrapper maker is and that pretty much sums up their attitude (some of which is understandable, some of which is just pointless bitching) to VST...in the meantime there's actually many VST 2.4 osx plugins, so that statement is pure baloney.

By way of a bump for Broken Drum Machine and because I know I'm never going to have this more finished than it is now

In Denial? No. Insane!

Disclaimer: this will be 3 minutes and 22 seconds of your life you'll never get back

A name change because it wasn't really doomy or gloomy. Okay its not insane either - just a really bad pun, sorry

A couple of instrument changes mainly for a particular sound or to save CPU.

Slightly more expanded but still fairly simple & monotonous. Mostly liqih's NUSofting synths used for the main instruments.

4 instances of Broken Drum Machine
2 instances of Peti
2 instances of Modelonia
1 instance of Absynth 4 - no NI link cuz this is liqih's forum <grin>

Effects are too many to mention in any kind of cohesive order so instead looky here if you're interested

Az...you are so funny :P ...3mins, blah blah blah you'll never get back
you should really not marginalize your music like that. I've listened to this and really do like it...in fact, I'd thought that I replied to the thread saying so...but obviously I've not done so until now!
Really nice tune, Az! Thanks for fleshing it out a bit more :hihi: (reminds me a little of Graham Lewis [He Said, Wire]), and I do think your BDM bank is one of my faves as well
(BTW- I wish it were as easy to 'splain fx routing with a screenshot in Live :D . This is a really good way of doing it.

How am I meant to marginalize it? Is there a marginalization wiki somewhere? If you listen to it twice that's nearly 7 minutes gone

Seriously though I know I shouldn't but I guess its a defence mechanism. If I tell people its crap they'll listen fearing the worst. Hopefully they'll be pleasantly surprised or at worst completely agree with me. My best mate said it was too weird for him to listen to and my sister burst out laughing when the accordion kicked in :) What can I say in the face of that?

Thank you :D

I'll tell you what I'll pop my KVR cherry and post this in the Cafe later with a bad, terrible, don't give up your day job poll - sorry just joking .....................maybe :troll:

Still got to comment on the A La Karte album but me likey. Wire I've heard of, He Said doesn't even ring a bell so I'll have to check that one out.

BTW I realised I've missed out the inserts from that screen
