Hello! I'm curious what kind of filter uses Zebra2, FIR or IIR? Many thanx!

Post

Both. The "normal" filters such as VCFs, XMFs, EQs are all IIR (as in every other synth) but some of the OscFX can be considered FIR with some imagination.

Why would you ask?

Hi, Urs. I asked, coz soon i will by one of the three synth and zebra is there. I asked because IIR filters can't do transparent( clean, without any glitches and clicks caused by non liner phase) cutoff modulation. Especially if cutoff modulated fast. So it is difficult to create fast clean sweeps. :)

Uhm... well... any synth that has a "resonance" knob uses IIR filters. Synthesizers do this.

Linear phase is highly overrated btw. und usually paid for by high latency and/or high cpu usage. Linear phase filters can not be used for realtime modulation (as typical in a synthesizer).

Ok. Thanx. I will keep it in mind.

You'd better do. He (Urs) is damn right about IIR filters!
