hm, nice that most seems fixed now - there's one last thing - at least for me. how the hell can I grab the demosoundpack?
tried with opera and flashget - both start fine, slow down, get interrupted, start again...

The PSP although very eye catching was too big, and way too much graphic crap that didn't do anything. Honestly I didn't even load it when I got my new Macbook... This one I will. It loaded the PSP sound bank without any problems... and some of the sounds that were glitching before are playing now? Hmmmm... CPU still seems to be unpredictable? I was running 2 instances, and Logic was giving me an audio overload error. Although an individual instance doesn't seem to be using too much cpu? Maybe the beta? I'm glad this is going forward... the sounds are still top-notch!
Thanks,
Hmmm... I had a Timbaland drum set loaded in one instance, playing a 2 bar midi clip. The other instance had a pad preset playing? Maybe the pad had a Convolution reverb on it. I'll check. Also I've noticed that when loading a drum set, programming say, a 2 bar pattern, as the pattern loops in the arrange window it stutters a little each pass of the clip? I'm using a Macbook 2.2 ghz Core 2 duo. 2 gigs of ram OSX 10.5.3. Logic 8.0.2.

Hello Mdsp and Monsieur Tristan,
been testing the UVI Workstation as a standalone, and it feels quick and responsive, GUI-wise, works much more fluently than PSP, which I bought and could never use (!!!).
Anyway, noticed two things. First, it doesn't accept notes from my midi-controller, a M-Audio Axiom49 Keyboard connected via USB. Yes, I've checked the appropriate midi input box, which the software does detect, but I can't play any of the sounds. Only by clicking the keys on the GUI I can hear something.
Second, in the audio options menu, all my 16 soundcard channels are displayed, and I want to uncheck 14 of them and only keep the first two as an output. Everytime I click on an output, the list jumps back to the top, meaning I have to scroll down like ten times to uncheck the ones below the window. Could you please make the window stay in the same position after checking and unchecking the outputs? That'd be cool.
Thanks for keeping up the work, I'd love to be able to use my PSP soundbank one day!
Viktor

As far as I can tell, it didn't seem less of a hard work for Spectrasonics to come up with a replacement solution for the UVI engine, and I don't remember them being "quiet on forums" - wich is some interesting way of saying "lack of support", "deny of issues", "letting customers in the dark" or even "closing the forum".
In fact, I very well recall Eric Piersing patiently explaining again and again the what, why and how (and later when) on every concerned forum out there. That builts trust in a company.
Somehow I have the feeling that as good sounding as your products are (and they are), it may take a little more than some "Hey ! Wassup guys ? Sorry for the radio silence smart policy, now we're back in business, wahou ! Glad to see you're still here !! Mind to do a little beta testing ?" to regain the trust of some of us here.
Er, wait, you didn't even bother to say sorry, did you ? Didn't think so.

I know. It's a bit disheartening. In my world "beta" means the development team thinks it has no known "a" bugs. Meaning a bug that would block you from testing a major feature. Not running in any hosts seems to be early alpha behavior. They should have waited until it was more solid. Has anyone gotten it to load in Live 7? Has there been a second release?

OK, this is promising. Perhaps I'll try it this weekend.

So now the VST PC version can be launched.
Still, There is some crashes here and there on Mac & PC, but no every 2 min ones as far as I know.

It seems you're not the only one experiencing some MIDI issue with the StandAlone version, we'll take a look.ViktorW wrote:Hello Mdsp and Monsieur Tristan,

Sure we should have try to download the package and test it, before making the URL live.
Sorry about that.
Should be fine now.

I should mention that it works quite well here as a VSTi, although it crashed Cubase once while playing a sound and selecting a different FX preset from the menu.
About the FX presets, could you make it possible to select the presets more easily when you've already inserted an effect?
Like this, I selected the Multiband compressor for the master output, but then wanted a different preset for it. I had to go to the FX menu, look for the multiband compressor in the list, then scroll down to select a different.
That should be easier. I'd love to be able to quickly skip through the presets to be able to decide quickly, which suits my purpose best.
Thanks for your interest in this thread!

Well Stylus RMX was not a replacement for the whole UVI engine, and it took more than one year if I remember correctly... but I won't debate about this.@l3x!5 wrote:AlainJ UVI wrote:Making this project was a very hard work, and that's why we were quiet on forums during quite some time.![]()

I prefer that we regain our users confidence with actions instead of talks.
UVIWorkstation is one of those.
Sincere apologies for our radio silence though.
Give a try to UVIWorkstation and let us know what you think about it.
Thanks,
