Soooo.. I tried the Dynamics demo toight, wrapped the VST to RTAS (V2.11 wrapper), and put it on a track in Pro Tools LE 7.4cs4.
This is what I see. Click to see full size.

The GUI is mostly blank unless you click randomly and then controls will become visible, moving another plugin window over top of it will allow for the proper graphics to be shown, but it doesn't 'stick' if you close and reopen the plugin window.

System info:
Windows XP Pro sp2
Athlon 64 X2 4200+
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache (1280x1024 - 32 bit color)

It works fine for me in Sonar 7 Producer. I haven't got a chance to hear what it can do yet, maybe tomorrow.

hey, no latency though!

I know you don't HAVE TO care about whether it works in Pro Tools or not, but it'd be really nice for me.

when i have this problem i make the gui show by clicking on the load all or load one preset window.

Hi,

We actually DO care it works in your application, whatever it is! I remember we had this issue with the freewares series a long time ago. It had been fixed at that time thanks to a customer, but it seems that the current version of Blue Cat's Dynamics does not have the fix. We'll double check it and I'll get back to you asap. if it's the case, a fixed version can be released very fast. Our main issue is that we don't have a copy of protools in house for testing.

BTW can you have a look at one of our plugins released lately and check whether it has the same issue? (for example one of the Multi series plugins) This would help us identify the most appropriate solution for this problem.

First thing I have noticed is in the Wrapper the plugin names are not consistent.
Blue Cat Dynamics
Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst
Blue Cat's StereoScope
Oscilloscope Multi

Every little detail matters, right.

Now in Pro Tools
I'm seeing Blue Cat Dynamics 3 times in the list. 2 mono and 1 mono/stereo when on a mono track.
Interestingly, when I flip over to Firefox and go back the gui has righted itself.

The 3 Multi Plugins have the same issue.

I don't mind checking the other demos today.

The right click to reset a control took me a while to figure out, most other plugins are alt-click.

About the inconsistent naming: you are right two of our plugins do not have consistent names. It will corrected in the next version. Thanks for noticing. Since most hosts use the file name to identify the plugins instead of their name, we did not see this issue.

The Blue Cat's Dynamics plugin (like many of our plugins) comes in two versions: a mono plugin (mono to mono) and a stereo (stereo to stereo). It seems the wrapper shows one more plugin but I can't tell why (maybe because it has two routing options for the stereo: either route the mono signal to the left channel (mono) or duplicate the signal to left and right channels (stereo), hence the three versions).

Please find below a new demo version that should fix the refresh problem (as well as the inconsistent naming). Please tell me if it works for you. If it does we will release a new official version later this week:

Ah, and for the "alt-click" thing maybe we will add this option in future versions.

You're so close to getting it fixed.
Its fine when first instantiated. Changing to any of the skins makes it go grey again.

I took a look at how the skins are made and I don't want to even get into learning that.

Can someone make a skin that has a sidechain and gate kind of like a Drawmer ds201?

Yes, skinning is still a bit of work for skinners... Doesn't the default gate skin fit your needs?

Everything works fine now.
The other skin pack was better.

Unfortunately I've found that this doesn't do what I need it to. It's has too many features I won't ever use. It is a great plugin, and the service is awesome, it just overkill and a compromise for what I need.
