As stated in a previous post, it seems you need to update the FL wrapper for it to work.soproductive wrote:Version 1.0.1 still crashes in my Fl Studio 8...!

I agree that an arpeggiator would be nice to have with this.
Also, a loopable multistage envelope would be cool.

An arp would take this rompler to the next level, no doubt. Especially since the Synth Anthology Soundcard will work with this. I'm really surprised this wasn't on the hot list.
To the Developers: What exactly has been improved with the "engine" of the program. Does that equate to higher fidelity or better performance or some under the hood easter-eggs that we don't yet know about? How is this "engine" better than the one in Plugsound Pro (other than this one will hopefully work without as many bugs).

To the Devs:
How can you save any single part as a new sound instead of saving the whole multi? If ths is not currently an option, will it ever be added?
I have Kore 2 and I like the way NI gives you the option to save parts/patches as new Kore sounds as well as save the whole performance if you so choose. This is possible to do in Kontakt 3 also.
Thanks,
Summer2000

To the devs,
Will this plug allow me to use charlie retro organ on Intel Mac? I still use it, but on my PPC Mac as I haven't upgraded to plugsound pro nor wanted to pay any upgrade fee.
Can I import the .dat?
Thanks

OK...
an hour of playing around with some crashes. here are some concerns with Logic 8 in tiger - will mess with leopard when more stable
- can't drag rex file onto arrange page (says it is 32 bit file) aiff and wave are fine
- aiffs don't seem to allow me to select slice, wavs are fine though
- on the note of slice, its weird that for slice when it is not mapped, it will play from where the loop stopped last - that can be cool depending on what you are doing
- can't get the browser to recognize .caf or apple loops - it won't work in the apple loop browser in logic and won't even work in the finder
- can't drag audio from arrange onto uvi tracks to load - can do so from the integrated browser in logic though
- keyswitching crashes logic when I turn on - try to change the value (which doesn't change - double clicking makes C3 red! whatever that means) - and then click on the keyboard interface (i sent a log of this to your email at beta support)
- on the note of keyswitching, i noticed that when I map a loop it will have a blue line above the keyboard so i know what keys are available - thats great - well can't you implement this for the ranges when I do stacks and layers so I know what patches are where?
- if you did that with like multiple lines in addition with the keyswitching blue keys that you guys did, it would be really helpful
-and when I have a bunch of patches on the same midi channel - i wish the keyboard interface would reflect and play all the patches assigned to the channel
- loading a multi crashes logic (it didn't print out a log) - save is fine though
- another weird glitch, atleast in logic, is if i double click the image in the info part, the window with the image file comes up and logic and the plug-in are frozen (can't click anything) - when i close the image window everything resumes to normal, but the first time I did this the plugin was in front of the image and I couldn't do anything except for shutdown the program!
- it also seems that logic only allows for 15 independent auxes (not including the original channel) for a multi-output instrument - so thats 16 all together - 17 gets no play
- and last, strangely it seems that uvi is crashing my capslock keyboard in logic, it might be the cpu spikes on this old g4 laptop i am testing it on but i have never had this issue before, just all of sudden when I am messing with uvi my capslock keys to play midi are rendered useless and i can't close the capslock window, but everything else in the program and plugin are fine - i don't know
thanks and keep up the good work
- the added defaults fx are a nice touch

Olivier, here is a few things with 1.0.1:
1- Still had a few crashes bringing down Cubase 4.1(WinXP) while reloading patches, however I have no steps, just happened randomely.
2- FX are still using CPU when there is no input, including Aux
3- CPU seems quite high if I compare polyphony with Kontakt 3 on lead or pad patches even if no FX is used. Is it possible that it is quite long before CPU usage is release after the sound drop?
3- Muting should really bypass the audio engine. Here is an example where it is problematic. Load a few pads on 4 channels all map to midi 1 to layer them together. Tweak them, pan, FX, ... Now let say you are not sure about the sound on channel 3 and 4, so you mute them. Well at this point to get back the CPU they are using when playing you really need to unload these channels and loose the settings you did on them since you can't save them individually. In Kontakt, I'm use to do that all the time since no CPU is use unless something is happening(midi input) on a channel including the FX use on patches and channel strip.
4- Enabling the UI of the plugin is quite long in Cubase. It takes about 5-10 second for the UI to open on an existing instance of the plugin and while it's happening it freezes up Cubase. Again I will compare with Kontakt, but you can close or open the GUI without any noticable delay.
Merci.

if you don't already have it you can download a free 415M demo soundpack on http://www.uvisoundsource.com/marce wrote:I pretty much ignorant about the previous plugsound world. Where i can find commercial or free sounds, acoustic mainly, for this uviworkstation?
Thanks!
in the meantime before uvisoundsource is officially open, commercial soundbanks are also available from http://www.ultimatesoundbank.com/

Other people have already asked for it, we're thinking about that.summer2000 wrote:To the Devs:
