ViktorW wrote:The UVI Workstation v1.01 crashed Cubase SX3.1 while having a .wav file loaded in slot 1 and then in the "Loop" tab switching between the sample and the stretch mode, apparently too fast. The switching takes half a second or more, and when I switch back and forth too fast, the UVI workstation crashes. Also the standalone version crashed while doing that.
should be fixed for v1.0.2

Wow : 28 pages already ?
I can't read them all but i see 2 new beta versions are out, so could anyone tell if a "no PACE" installer is available ?
Thanks !

no, it requires pace drivers but no ilok.

ilok is required for commercial soundbanks though.

The UVI Workstation looks cool indeed. I am using the VST version 1.0.1 with Metro on a MacBook pro.

A couple problems I have found:

• The browser tries to mount all aliases to external volumes. This is a major headache on systems where the servers are not online. For each alias it takes like two minutes and then comes up with a message 'connection failed'. It would be far better to just ignore aliases to unmounted volumes until they are selected, similarly to what the Finder or Kontakt does.

• While MIDI drag and drop works, audio drag & drop does not.

Ok, thank you for the reply.
And, is it possile during the installation process to disable PAce ?
Or is it ok to remove all PACE stuff using cleaner software like REgedit ? ( = will UVI still work after that ?)

wow.

maybe i didn't do enough testing last time but these loops are not working properly.

~all of the uvi loops sound messed up on sample, stretch, and slice. only map or playing the loop from the play button sounds right. they are unplayable on a keyboard. the rex file samples are fine though. just the loops in mayhem are weird. the mapping on the keyboard is all wrong. the samples play way too fast on the keyboard mapping.

~~~~ok, your two wav files that are the koto and flute are bizarre. you tell me I can't use wavs for slice but both of these load up as slices and I can map them. and the map sounds fine and works! as compared to the sound of the regular slice mode with audio. i note though, clicking on stretch from slice will cause a crash
- sooooo. why can't i import a wav and slice it up and use map? thats what i really want to be able to do with loops in your program.
~still waiting for the ability to load caf file apple loops. maybe i can slice these guys. I wonder though...because these apple loops are write protected so maybe thats why there is some kind of problem.
~when i change the loop mode constant pitch turns off, shouldn't it stay the same?
~loading a multi still immediately crashes logic 8
little by little
thanks
no, it requires pace drivers but no ilok.
ilok is required for commercial soundbanks though.
So how does one go about getting the pace drivers without an iLok? I might be interested in developing soundbanks independently - how to go about that?
Info seems to be non-existant at this point - when will there be a downloadable manual?
Nice plugin, but I cant extract UFS file from soundpack ZIP :bang:(download complete successfully). What's wrong? Maybe someone can share soundpack UFS file? :help:
Bug: Pitch ENV "depth" button is not working. v1.0.2 AMD WXP SP3
This looks very promising Mr. Tristan :). This really have a potential to become an excellent Workstation VSTi. Excellent routing system and nice FX. Many outputs to play with, yay!-essential for a "workstation". So far, sample and sound editing is rather rudimentary, but as I said - it looks veery promising. I was actually quite sceptic at first...
The only thing that puzzles me is why the *dll is whooping 20MB, while my whole host [Reaper] is just 3.2MB... I can't fathom that for the love of any god, even Martian. :) I mean where is this leading to... Must be hard to debug so much code. OTOH, I guess as long as it doesn't have a great impact on functionality and speed, it doesn't matter so much.
Anyway, great work! :) and extremely generous of you to make it freeware. Smells like a new buck making system... cunning one ;), and makes everybody happy, too.
Cheers!
Regarding size, it's a matter of bitmaps and IR for the convolution reverb.
Moreover, I suspect Reaper to use some kind of exe packer like UPX.(runtime decompression)
Thanks for the report.
Does the version number in bottom right corner says 1.0.2 ?
This functionnality is not planned so far.
We prefer that people use more advanced programs to do this like MachFive.
caf file works fine except for some specific encoding.
caf file bundled with logic and Garage Band are aac encoded.
This encoding is not available freely.
Still there might a possiblity to load those on mac(using mac only API) but not on PC, so not sure if people would understand this.
Bass108 wrote: ~when i change the loop mode constant pitch turns off, shouldn't it stay the same?
bug indeed
Every multi ?
We'll take a look.
