Is there a patch listing or audio preview I can hear for the free soundbank I can hear before making space on my HD for this?

Bug:
If I scroll though the presets in the main program interface (not using the browser) eventually I can get the program to lock up and or just disappear. I'm using the plugsound library and the synth's anthology.
It only happens after I have selected maybe twenty presets in a row. Fix?

Bug/Engine Change?
If you select the exact same preset on Plugsound Pro vs the Uvi Workstation, the sounds are not the same. Sometimes the same preset sounds like a totally different patch. I don't know which one sounds better, but this is a bit strange.
Any comments from the developers would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, just did some more testing on the new sound engine vs Plugsound Pro (1.04). The new UVI engine has a slightly "wider" sound to it vs PP which is good. It seems the the verb has a slightly better sound and there appears to be less antialiasing or digital distortion on the new engine vs PP. Not bad, whatever you guys did under the hood.
What is not as great is that some of the sounds have drastically different tonalities and attacks. Is this a by-product of the new engine? Have you guys done any testing? Is there a fix for this?
Keep up the good work guys. I'm looking forward to buying some of the soundbanks you have in store.

I've been testing out some of the patches. This is 100% more functional inside of FL Studio than the Plugsound Pro UVI engine. Hopefully it stays that way.

thanks for the report I'll have a lookspidermix wrote: If I scroll though the presets in the main program interface (not using the browser) eventually I can get the program to lock up and or just disappear. I'm using the plugsound library and the synth's anthology.

which version to you have 1.0.2?
It should sound the same, but it can happen that a few specific presets are not reloaded 100% exactly, we're already invetigating the ones that have been reported so far, feel free to submit your list.spidermix wrote:Bug/Engine Change?

Modulations are more accurate and efficient in the new engine. That can make a big difference.spidermix wrote:Ok, just did some more testing on the new sound engine vs Plugsound Pro (1.04). We've already fixed an issue related with some presets having a velocity to attack modulation in the wrong direction.
More testers are more efficient than just a few so feel free to submit the list of presets that you suspect to sound different and we'll have a look.

When using the prev/next arrows, presets are not loaded in the background like we do with the browser, so it can slowdown the UI during the loading especially with big multisampled patches. However I can't make it unresponsive or disappear.spidermix wrote:If I scroll though the presets in the main program interface (not using the browser) eventually I can get the program to lock up and or just disappear. Would you mind telling me which patches you were browsing?
thanks

Yep. I'm a quite experienced "synthesist"otristan wrote:Works fine here.DuX wrote:Bug: Pitch ENV "depth" button is not working. v1.0.2 AMD WXP SP3
Did you modified the pitch env time too ?
otherwise it's perfectly normal.
Thanks,
First I put time to ~500ms, and then tried to move "depth", but no go. Still as a mummy

It works for me here with instruments and wav/aiff... I can move the Time and Depth knobs and here the pitch bend.DuX wrote:First I put time to ~500ms, and then tried to move "depth", but no go. Still as a mummy. Maybe it doesn't work with WAV samples? I was testing it with normal 24-bit WAVs.
I've found a way to make the depth knob inactive though:
- load a wav (in my case it defaults to stretch mode) -> here the depth knob works
- change to sample mode -> the depth is disabled, however I can still assign the PitchEnv to the Pitch in the modulation section
- If I come back to stretch or slice the Pitch Env depth is still disabled
Does correspond to what you've done?
It should be something simple, I'll have a look.
thanks for the report.

Exactly mdsp. I was in sample mode
. Depth doesn't work in sample mode. Assigning PitchEnv to the pitch in the mod section works in every mode.
However, after messing around with sample/stretch modes, all of a sudden PitchEnv depth stopped working in both modes. Strange.
edit: after loading a new WAV in place of the old one, the behaviour is the same - it works in stretch mode and it doesn't in sample mode.
Cheers!

I've run into an issue. Some of the Acoustic pianos have a small amount of distortion running inside of FL8. I've changed the latency from 256ms all the way to 1024ms. When you raise the latency, the distortion lessens, but is slightly apparent. My setup is a 2GHz DC, 2GB of RAM, and a M-Audio Fast Track Pro.

Are there specific advantages to this program? Will it do things that, say, Short Circuit 2, can't do?
