Just took a listen to your Ringo Beats Download and am really impressed. I would like to use it with Drumcore. I assume the best format to use would be REX2.. Have you guys tried importing into Drumcore and did it go well?

Like the Bonzo beats too... good stuff

He iD! Nice to see you. Well, you can import the Rex2 into DrumCore but it really isn't designed for multi-tracks. The best is to just load them right into your DAW though and then play the drum kits that associate with them. The drum kits will be released in multitrack form in Kontakt and BFD2, but also in stereo form in Battery and DrumCore/KitCore. Also, many of the loops are in stereo form either in RAW Style Paks or in esoundz' Loop Club section.

Although one thing you could do with the multitrack loops is load say the overheads in DrumCore and use that but ALSO have the full multitracks in case you want to do more flexible mixing in another situation. Pretty nice to have that kind of flexibility with both mic mixing and Rex. Plus it is very unique and rare to find, especially the way we did it which is different than anyone else's (and there aren't many multi-track rexes out there because it is extremely difficult and time consuming to do properly).

I didn't realize they were multi-track... pretty cool stuff

If you buy them now, do you get the stereo drumcore version later?

No they're sold separately. But you bring up an interesting thing there... it could be possible we'll do a crossgrade discount on a DrumCore version. We'll see. Maybe.

I hope that's something you'll consider when you get back from England. :)

I wouldn't mind having both the multitrack/Kontakt version and the stereo Battery/KitCore version....

Yeah, I was thinking maybe we could do a stereo version of the loops with kits in a few formats like Battery and DrumCore. Originally we were just going to do the artist titles in those formats but maybe we'll do the style sessions too... hmmm... makes sense especially in DrumCore/KitCore. Okay, so on top of 8 drummer packs we'll have a bunch for styles too! More news coming (and yes a little more when I get back from England but of course there is a whole company still working whilst I am doing that anyway so no real lulls, just maybe less posting on KVR but maybe not even that!)

Hi Squids, Been a while since I messed around with REX at all. So,you just load those into Cubase/Acid/Audition/Reaper/etc and they "enter themselves" as separate tracks with corresponding mixer channels? I'm trying to remember.

I'm also about to download my sounds from the Drumcore GB, and am mulling whether to select REX or Acid, so I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks, and thanks again and as always for these fantastic GB's. Have a good time in Merry Old!

Okay, sorry for the case of the 'lazies.' I've been up almost 24 hours and it HAS been a long time since Recycle days for me. When I've used loops it has usually been in ACID just using [acidized] wave files.

I'm remembering now that REX files will import into any VST host just fine. But -if anyone could tell me: are there any particular advantages/drawbacks one way or the other as far as choosing between REX and WAVE files? Thanks!

When you say multi-track, how many tracks are we talking about. Is it the like original Drum's from hell concept?

Depends on the set...some I've seen so far import as many as 11 tracks.

Kick, Subkick, Snare Top, Snare bottom, Hi-Hats, Tom 1, Tom 2, Tom 3, Tom 4, OH and Room.

Some of the "Bonham" type stuff has 3 toms and an extra "Backroom" mic ...

You pick and choose which ones to load....

BTW, the ones from the GB can be downloaded in ALL 3 formats, REX, Apple and WAV....
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

We didn't go by anyone else's concept. But it is like real multitrack drum sessions. When you record drums you usually have direct mics, overheads, room mics etc to mix with. So this keeps that intact for the same flexibility as a live drum session but with the programming of slices in Rex, Apple Loops and Acidized Wave (and in sync with each other which no one else has been able to do between all three formats like this) so that you can speed up and slow down the tempo, quantize it and other useful musical things.

By the way guys we have a PDF guide that we're going to upload that gives you tips on how to use the multitrack loops in various DAWS. Plus I believe we have some template files as well. We'll put these in the esoundz user area soon. It should help answer some questions.

Brilliant! One of the questions I've had is how "raw" are these tracks? Was there any EQ'ing or processing done at all that we should know about beforehand, beyond loop and transient slicing?

No. The raw unprocessed tracks. Sometimes we MAY add in some EXTRA stuff like a compressed room but even then... most of the time no. This way YOU can eq, compress or do whatever you want and have the least amount of things already done to it. Just great mics, mic pres and great A to D. By the way, it's almost a given at this point but we use ALL discrete class A or tube mic pres, great mics (Neumann, AKG etc.) and Apogee converters most of the time (or better), Big Ben clocks and all that good stuff. We don't play around. Often times we'll even use some of the same gear that was used on the original sessions of classic rock and soul records. All depends. But this stuff is meant for you to have maximum flexibility to produce! It's like having your own dream drum sessions ready to go at any time to play whatever you want. That's what I always wanted so... there you have it! Now you can have it too. :D

yup...those backroom mics on the British Rock loops are cool...and I know the overheads or rooms (can't remember) are cool on the motown stuff.

All in all, fabulous sets!
Play what you feel and feel what you play.
