Hi there, I'm new but I've noticed how close luna is to being a perfect tool.
I come from a backround of trackers, where inputing notes, lengths, velocities and such is as fast as it gets. Switching to the stuff all the studios use has my workflow slowed down considerably.
Most of my work is done in the piano roll, so the piano roll of these programs makes or breaks them for me.
So far, FLStudio has the best piano roll in my opinion. Why? Because i dont have to go select a tool to erase a note. I can use the button on my mouse thats right next to the one that creates notes. I can right click!
I don't need to select a SINGLE tool to use flstudios piano roll. Luna is very close.
How many people use that strange menu that pops up on a note when you right click it?
Other features I havent really seen in any piano roll are full keyboard input, no mouse needed. However, I'd really have to tune and tweak this till i knew what perfect keyboard input in a piano roll was. Too bad I cant have the code! lol.
Features that make or break a composition tool for me.

I would love to make the note editor even more easy and finetuned!
And let it work with one tool and no modifiers.
Any suggestions are always welcome!
But about the right-click: It's one of LUNA's fundamentals: a right-click pops up the context menu for the object you right-clicked.
It's a fantastic way of putting a lot of functionality in the application without cluttering the main user interface!
And making "an exception" in the note editor is not a good thing imho, because an exception here and an exception there make an application difficult to learn.
Now it's an easy rule: right-click = more options.
Last but not least: i'm sure you know that holding alt while pencil = delete note.
So this way offers 'almost' instant note deletes.

Deleting a note via Alt+Left Click only works when the cursor is positioned on the very beginning of the note. I'd recommend it to work anywhere on the note (and likewise for sequences).

Alt+left-click on the middle of a note monitors that note.Psy-T wrote:Deleting a note via Alt+Left Click only works when the cursor is positioned on the very beginning of the note. I'd recommend it to work anywhere on the note (and likewise for sequences).
