try without your dowload manager if you are using one.

You may need to wait for 2 hours before trying again if you've reached the maximum number of downloads of the same file with the same IP (happens very fast with a download manager)

I'm very confused about this Plugsound Pro thing. I bought Plugsound Pro a few months ago and just got the email about 'upgrading' to the 'free' UVI Workstation.

So I follow the links to the site, and it appears that the engine that came with my new PSP is no longer supported and will have to be upgraded to the new UVI thingy.

It also looks like my PSP sounds will have to be upgraded into a UVI Soundcard in order to work with the 'free' UVI thingy.

So when I follow the links to see what such an upgrade will cost, there's no listing.

Am I following this right? Am I about to be charged for an 'upgrade' from my now unsupported engine?

Sorry if this is earlier in the thread. I tried to read as much as I could, but I didn't see this specifically covered.

Thanks

So many plugins, so little time...

Just downloaded 1.03 today. Sorry that I have not read all these 34 pages about this program. I have Plugsound Pro, Retro Organs, and Synth plugin.

I so far have these problems:

- During install, when installing PACE it locked up when the "progress bar" reached the end. Have had this problem with PACE before, so I hope USB is not installing simple PACE software without asking me first. I have more valuable software with PACE protection than theirs (Oxford). I had to use Task Manager to stop install, uninstall, start again, trouble, trouble and finally a working UVI Workstation.

- It does not recognize the libraries I already own. Is that a limitation of the beta or a bug?

- I think all those light blue colors are awful. It is like looking into a haze at sea. It's a strain on the eyes. And if this is the only color choice, I will prefer to use the old software even though everything turns black when moving it around on the screen.

No upgrade cost.

Just install the new free UVI Workstation, and load your Plugsound Pro UFS file into it.

That's simple, works better than the old engine, and is free of course :D.

Because you have NOTHING to pay. UVI Workstation is the continuation of the Plugsound Pro software, but with more features (unlimited parts, unlimited FXs...) a new audio engine, and a new graphic engine. So no worries, it's only good news !

Sorry for the confusion. We will find a way to be more clear.

I would think you guys would want to put in big bright letters: FREE UPGRADE FOR CURRENT USERS!!

In any event, thank you for the prompt response. That IS good news. :hihi:

"Just install the new free UVI Workstation, and load your Plugsound Pro UFS file into it."

How? My install will not recognize the libraries I have. I have authorized two of them, but so far I have not installed the plusound.ufs. I haven't installed the Plugsound Pro on my DAW currently and there is not separate authorizer for it. But the two other libraries should work. They don't.

if they are ufs files (it won't take .dat files) you just need to make sure that either the files or an alias are in the uvi workstation folder for soundbanks

they should come up especially if they are authorized

I hope you fix this bug in the 1.0.3 beta standalone of UVIWorkStation (UVIWS). It has existed since the initial 1.0 beta release.

Problem -- UVIWS standalone sends audio out on my MOTU 828 MK II firewire audio interface only to its master outs, and other outs on the interface can't be selected in UVIWS, as they could with PlugSound Pro (PSP). But I need to have UVIWS send the sound out via the 828's S/PDIF, not its master outs. I'm using a MacBook 2GHz Core2Duo, OS 10.4.11, and MOTU audio interface driver v 1.4.7 (the latest).

In PSP, in the Routing tab of the Prefs window, you could correlate the Plugin Output with the Physical Output of the interface using drop down menus. I am able to set it so that PSP's Main Outs correlate to the MOTU 828 MK II's S/PDF outputs. The drop down menu for Physical Output on this Routing tab of PSP's Prefs window nicely lists by name all the outputs on my 828 Mk II ( i.e., Main Outs, S/PDIF outs, all the separate ADAT and Analog outs). So PSP works great with my 828 MK II, and lets me tell it that its main outs should go to the 828's S/PDIF outs.

Not so with UVIWS. It uses a different scheme for all this. The Audio and Midi Settings window, reached via the File menu, lets me select the 828 as the interface. When I do this, all the Active Output Channels are selected. But when I go to the main GUI and go to the Expert tab, only Main Out is listed in the pop up menu under the Output column. And, when I tried as an experiment to deselect the outs in Prefs in the Active Output Channels, so as to leave only the outs for S/PDIF selected, UVIWS crashes when I deselect the second or third output listed.

It seems you haven't yet finished the implementation of this. Is that correct? I'm guessing that the pop up menu under the Output column in the Expert tab, which now lists as the only choice Main Out, is what is supposed to replace how it was done in PSP as described above, using the Routing tab of the Prefs window where you could correlate your interface's physical outs with PSP's outs. But, as stated, the pop up menu under the Output column in the Expert tab now lists as the only choice Main Out, so I can't select any other outs on my 828. This is a bummer for me, because I don't use the 828's master outs, and instead have it send audio out via s/pdif to my mixer.

So, I can't use UVIWS Standalone to send audio out of my 828 Mk II via s/pdif. (And, yes, I do have things set so that s/pdif is the default out for the 828 MK II -- things work fine, for example, with the Kontakt standalone player).

Will this be fixed? When? Is there anything specific I can do if you say it does and should work properly and let me select where the audio is output on my 828 MK II audio interface?

Thank you

How do you create an alias?

Maybe the install program should take care of things like this? Or the program itself. That's what the other software I have, like Kontakt, Toontrack etc. do. I have all my samples on a separate harddisk.

Nobody want to answer my question?
Does the UVI Workstation work with Windows Vista 64bit?

Sorry, it's the third time you ask...

It should work with Vista 64-bit, but it's still a 32-bit application and plugin.

We didn't get much feedback on it so far, so let us know how it goes.

Windows: right click -> "Create Shortcut"
Mac: right-click/control-click -> "Make Alias"

then copy the alias in the UVISoundBank folder

That should be 'control' not 'command'.
