The main probby is usually the discs are stolen outright from the case, & I've had more than one bad disc I've had to return to the store that my computer wouldn't even recognize. It's only by luck they actually have a copy left to exchange. It's actually how I lucked into Zebra CM. My CM disc didn't work, took it back, no more copies, but while rummaging around in the stacks found an orphan cover disc that had become detached from the magazine. It was months old, but I begged the salesgirl to let me have it in exchange for what I returned. Struck Gold on that one.
In Germany one issue is 18,40 Euro (about 28,80$ thanks to the weak Dollar now :o ). So I subscribed ages ago and never regretted it. I don't think it's an expensive mag. Same price since ages, by the way.
In fact, compared to many german magazines who do merely advertising-"tests and reviews", CM is nice to read. Sure, you can find much of it, and often in more detail, here at KVR and elsewhere, but in CM it is without the snobs :hihi: .

And reading 5 pages in the mag gives you - most of the time - more info about some new product or how to do this and leave that. Just because at our nice forum here at page 1 in the middle latest you learn that X hates Y forever, and from that second on the next flamewar begins, and on page 3 you have to look at the title of the thread to learn what it was initially all about :hihi:

I'm surprised you made the error with Rob Papen's name, because you see Rob Papen so often on KVR that Rob Papen should almost be engraved in your memory by now. I swear if you phoned there it would be :

"Hello Rob Papen Software"
"Hi Rob Papen, how is Rob Papen's day going?"
"This isn't Rob Papen, it's Rob Papen's order desk, what can Rob Papen Software do for you today? Are you interested in Rob Papen's Albino or Rob Papen's Blue, or perhaps Rob Papen's Predator?"
:D

Amazing!!! I live in US, have the subscription, and it arrived at my door step today right on June 4th!!!

Are these sounds coming out of my laptop for real? Very high quality phat "infectious" synth targeted at dance/trance/techno/electro. Dial in "Zenergy" and you get instantaneous trance hit with one finger (not the middle one) :D

I also understand this Genesis CM is just a teaser for a future full commercial version and more soundset expansions. Can't wait for Ozcan's "I will put in every function I can think of and create" ;)

Oh, and I'm sure you caught that already, spelling of "seperate" :D

Thank YOU for this great synth!!!

I live in the US as well, but do not have a subscription, so it may take a little more time till I get one. Here is a quick question: Is this CM127 a regular issue or a special one. CM makes a few special issues a year (like the one on Garage Band), sometimes they are harder to get.

In Australia it seems the specials are easier to get than the normal issues, probably due to the small market here for this type of thing. (I don't thing there's too many people familliar with VSTs unless it's Pro-Tools.)

Either way, subscription is my only option here, unless a fellow Melburnian can direct me to the nearest bookstore in the western suburbs that stock back-issues of CM?

Never mind! It's on CM web site now, it's the regular issue not a special. Can't wait.

The version that came out first on CM Mag didnt run on multi-core systems...So the update was to go into the next issue.. Maybe thats what D-Fusion is talking about..

Hi Guys,

Just trying to find a manual for this synth. I can't seem to find one. I had the dll file from the CM disc but no manual.

I can't seem to get any of the trance liner pads sounds to sync with the sequencer tempo. Anyone got any ideas please?

Thanks in advance.

Darren
