How do you create an alias?

Windows: right click -> "Create Shortcut"
Mac: right-click/control-click -> "Make Alias"

then copy the alias in the UVISoundBank folder

Thanks. I got it working now. Except for the lock up during install I have not encountered any problems yet. But I still thin USB should have the install program make those shortcuts/aliases to the ufs libraries.

Also, please please please provide some alternative color scheme. All that light blue and white is a strain on the eyes if you work and tweak with the workstation for hours. More contrast please. And why is it alt + click that chooses default control setting? All my other plugins use crtl + click. Also I like programs where knobs can be turned with the mouse wheel. Much easier.

I can't use the Uvi Workstation at all on my machine.... It wont open.. I continually get this error:

Have emailed the USb team about it, but Im guessing the problem lies with something in my system, since it works well oon other machines... argh!

Could you try to remove the UVIWorkstation directory in ~/Library/Preferences ?
(the one in your user directory)

Yeah I have removed everything related to uvi and pace also.... Then done a fresh install. Worth noting though... After I deleted everything and went to re-install it had an 'upgrade'tab. so perhaps Im not deleting everything in my system. I was doing a general find for anything with uvi in it.

At nay rate, its still not going.....

It validates in logic just fine. But when you try to load thhe plug it crashes. And it won't load as a stand alone either.

Im confused as hell...Especially as I have the same machine at work and the plug loads fine Only difference is that Im not connected to the net at home

The following patches have an odd clicking sound under PSP, orchestral, string ensemble (simply bang on keyboard up and down and you'll hear what I mean hopefully):

-all strings pizz snap
-celli pizz
-violins pizz (though this one could be just how it is)

My specs (which I'll list with sig for the duration of testing)

Abit IP35e mobo
core 2 duo 6750
2 gigs ram
ati 2400 video
motu traveler

Also, I have gotten some random crashing (standalone, cubase 4, ext 2) but I have not come up with a "reproducible" set of steps

hi, if you really want to force a complete re-install on OSX you have to go to /Library/Receipts/ which is the folder that apple uses to keep track of what has been installed (I still have not idea why they don't provide a standard uninstall BTW) and delete all the .pkg that are related to uviworkstation and pace:

uvi*.pkg,
interlok*.pkg

that could take a long, long time if we had to scan all your disks in search of UFS. What would you suggest?

It's not skinnable. There are more important stuff to solve first.
But being free, it will be much easier for us to provide future updates, adding features...

control-click is similar to right-click on mac... and we already have a popup menu for controls.

Also I like programs where knobs can be turned with the mouse wheel. Much easier.

so you have that problem with PSPro? what about UVIWorkstation?

here's what I have:

I have the same sound on both PSP and UVIW, the strings are hit with the bow which produces this snap pizzicato sound.

- celli pizz
these should be labeled snap pizz, which I agree is surprising.

-violins pizz (though this one could be just how it is)

Awesome workstation can't wait till it is finnished. And a decent set of patches for it as well!

However good it is I'm getting some division by zero errors. No huge crash but they are there when I try to tweak the octave and the semi knob on the front panel.

Can you gives us more details regarding those division by zero errors ?
Do you need a patch to be loaded ?
Does it happens all the time ?
Do you need to play for it to happen ?
Happen in specific host ?
PC or Mac ?

Yes I had the hiphop 2 drumkit loaded and it was in the 1st channel. I had FL Studio 7 playing when this happened. No big boom just a tiny dialog popping up from time to time.

And I also did a mp3 render where it generated a sine beep allmost at exactly 3.20 into the file.

I dunno if this is a part of some sort of sceme It is most likely the drum patch that gave the beep but I'm not sure.

I finally got it working last night.... But I only got it going by creating a new user account on my machine, and then logging in with that... It worked. So there is something fishy going on with my home folder perhaps?

Not sure, but Ive only ever seen the error or had anything like this happen with The UVI Workstation.

While I was using the plug last night I found a number of drum libraries wouldnt load, plug was saying it couldn't find the files within the ufs file.

Ill re install the whole machine and try to produce the same results... fingers crossed it all goes fine.

In order to create samplesets, you will need to use MOTU MachFive 2.

Hm. Too much of a hassle for me then, I think. I already have Logic's EXS, NI's Kontakt and Redmatica's Keymap. Can't see too much of a reason to buy yet another sampler license just to make some patches of mine available.

The sample not loading in some drum libraries is fixed in 1.0.4.

No idea so far regarding the install issue.
We'll investigate.

Hi there,

Got a few problems and bugs too:

*when using as a vst in Cubase SL3; impossible to load the sounds when I re-open the project file (.cpr).

* Bug with Autotune 5 vst and pace drivers : Autotune 5 is not authorized to run when UVIWorkstation is loaded.

Important question: is the UVIWorkstation working well with an ATI X300/X550 graphic card ?

Xp SP2 - PIV 3.2Ghz - P5GD2 Premium motherboard - ATI X300/X550 graphic card - 3 Go RAM - 2 SATA 250Go HDD .
