Also are there any other free banks one can use?
Best regards from Johan Brodd.

Nope, and they say there will not.
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Post

Unless of course people create their own stuff with the MachFiveV2 sampler and upload it somewhere. That'd be really cool actually.

Post

I don't know what all the pace fuss is about but with the psp/uvi players before, you had to practically jump through fiery hoops to get the damn things to work (unlike most ilok things) The new system asks for nothing extra. (though I do of course have the ilok and those licenses)

My point being I don't think it's much to worry about. :)

you can make your own libraries with the MachFive2 sampler

or

buy "soundbanks" at the UVI Sound Source page, which will be launched soon!

And how much will these banks cost?

It looks like you can tweak and save patches...

Post

Well, you CAN use your own Wav files and Rex files to make your own sounds, but so far you can't save them as presets, only in the shape of a multi-file. Right?

Please, Olivier and Mdsp, can you move this to the top of the wishlist, once he bugs are sorted out, please? Saving single patches and FX presets is so important.

Thanks for having an open ear, or two.

Maybe this would open too much their product..., but I they could do that, we had a really cool free sampler !

Never thought of it that way. Could that be the reason it's not in there yet?
Anyway, as a sampler it's of course restricted, as you can only load one wave-file into a slot.

So I still don't give up hoping for preset-saving.

Saving single patch will be definitly done very soon.
We just wanted that the product run smoothly before.

aMUSEd wrote:I only just heard of this. Does this play all UVI soundbanks (e.g. Atmosphere) or just what it comes with? I had a quick look at the installation info in the downloadable manual and it said something about needing to install Pace drivers or something so what's that about? Does it need an iLock?
Thanks for the answer DoubleM.
Just some precision

Only new UVI soundbank can be read. Meaning plugsound first versions, Charlie, UltraFocus and Xtreme FX first version cannot be used. Same things applied to spectrasonics UVI based stuff.
Moreover I don't think eric persing would allow us to do so.

Regarding iLok, only PACE driver are required to run UVIWorkstation.
No iLok dongle as long as you run non protected soundbank.(the demo ones for example)
However in order to use protected soundbank, you'll need to plug an iLok key with the the correct authorizations.(like PlugsoundPro for example)

Thanks,
Olivier, I know I sound like a broken record, but any news about MOTU Symphonic Instruments support? Starting using PSP sounds in my project finally, is really great and I will like to do the same with Symphonic Instruments...

Merci.

I notice it doesn't currently, but are there any plans to include Mach5v2 UFS's as well?
UVIW reads Mach5v2 soundbanks, do you have your ilok key plugged? and do you have the UFS or a shortcut to it the UVISoundBanks folder?

ufs loops sound great over here in logic now!

a couple of things that still bother me:

in terms of dragging and dropping audio loops..half and double seem to be trying to work but the feature is sort of erratic. i can't get it to be able to go back in forth when dragging and dropping audio. sometimes the regions are shorter and sometimes they are not...and i have yet to get it to go to half time.

stretch doesn't seem to be stretching for regular audio files when dragging and dropping...the waveform doesn't match tempo. i guess only it only works for samples that have been marked for transients like ufs and rex?

i still don't get any indication of an outline for an audio region when i am dragging and dropping onto logic.

and last are you still planning on implementing that suggestion for a marker on where the sample start is in the loop tab? that would be realllllly nice.
