I was using Z2's arp yesterday and I was thinking it'd be really cool if there was a "Rate" and "..." knob for the Arp speed. It'd work just like the "Rate" knob for LFOs or MSEGs. It'd musically allow for crescendos and cool fadeouts.

I know you hate touching the Arp code Urs but what do you think?

Since I'm guessing it's unlikely that Urs will do this, maybe consider using tempo ramps in your host and dumping to audio.

This one drives me nuts...

1. After naming a preset, hitting <enter> should save and complete the process.
Currently it does nothing. (on windoze)

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

2. From inside the patch selection tab, clicking on a module on the grid should immediately switch into synth edit mode. i.e Zeb should be clever enough to figure out that you'd like to edit something - Why else would you click on a module?

3. Better saturation/shaper modules ( more varied distortion types and capable of more extreme settings)

4. The FX mod module (chorus/flange) could sound nicer as well as having more parameter variation. It's ok, but just that, ok...

5. Bigger pitch bend range +/- 48 semitones would be bice

By way of keeping the above remarks in context, I consider Zebra2 a truly excellent piece of kit. It's my favourite VST synth by far.

Cheers,
bagginz :D

BIGGER ARP page please! it should be a whole page of its own, as it is now it is quite small and fiddly.

Arp banks would be a nice thing also! say you can have 128 ARP patterns in a bank so you can choose from them.

A new GUI with modern style like NI Massive and no stripes please.

Zebra 2 even sounds better than Access Virus!

Thanks!

You're not going to ask for the "real phat unison"? :hihi:

Anyway. I'm not sure if this has been requested. A chord memorizer.

+1 on that chaoticz!

Just a common, usual request : a standalone version, like instruments made by Arturia, Native Instruments, GMedia, Applied Acoustics Systems, Korg and so on... Zebra deserves it so much !

Just out of curiosity: What extra benefit would be from a standalone version instead of just using Zebra with a simple host and having Zebra load inside it by default?

IMO, Urs' time is better spent in other things.

Guys, is it just me or doesn't the latest beta open in Kore 2 anymore ? Can't get it work there. No problems with Cubase 4 anyway ... :-/

One double-click instead of 3 or 4 (depending on the place where you put vst dll), when Zebra is not loaded inside a simple vst host by default... Instant access when you are lazy, and when you have plenty of standalone synths on your desktop, their lovely icons carefully arranged side by side... More practical... Ask yourself the question : why do all big companies make standalone versions ?

I am not sure if Urs is waiting for your advice...
If it takes too much time, Urs does not make the thing. If it is easy to do, Urs can consider the request... He is the only man who can decide if his time is better spent in other things or not...

Best regards...

Burnie: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
some people have expressed the desire to run their VSTis as standalone programs in as simple a way as possible. Using SAVIHost, it is a matter of seconds to create an executable for the plugin, which can then simply be invoked by the familiar double-click. No massive sequencer package, no unnecessary overhead.

Thank you. I know Savihost, but it does not work very well and sometimes crashes in XP (parameters freeze for example)... I prefer Minihost or Cantabile lite, but they do not make vst.exe... There are other ones like Simple Host and Kong Audio Small Host... But it is not the point... My request is just a suggestion, and if it requires
massive sequencer package, (...) unnecessary overhead
, just forget it... :)

But you can make it load by default in for example minihost and even make a shortcut and change the icon to something you like. It's also very simple to do - and after you do it once, it'll behave like a standalone from there on.

Oh, and obviously I don't have any megalomanic Urs-controlling urges. :hihi: That was simply my opinion.
