do you have your ilok key plugged?
Yep.
and do you have the UFS or a shortcut to it the UVISoundBanks folder?
Yes - in addition, i can't get it to load any of my own .M5p patches. They show in the browser, but click OK to load and nothing loads - for me anyway :?

Also : Standalone, OSX 10.5.4 :
- Save a .uviws Multi
- Quite UVI Workstation
- Create new folder
- Move the previously created .uviws file into this folder
- Reopen UVi workstation, attempt to load multi from new location
- > folder shows greyed out in file open dialogue, hence unable to select and reload.

Oddly, not all folders appear greyed out - and moving the multi into one of those folders allows you to load it...as does moving the multi back to it's original location. As there's no 'save as' option for multis, using the finder to move them around is the only way, seems something funky is going on though :?:

I don't know if anything else changed in 1.0.5, but Mach5 .ufs's now load 8) . Still no joy though with individual .M5p patches though.

Individual M5p file cannot be loaded by design, so it's perfectly normal you can't load those.

Good news for M5 ufs though.. I still don't get why it would'nt work before.

Thanks for the report.

Hello,
just checked, and v1.05 still crashes when switching between slice-mode and stretch-mode (in the "Loop" tab) too fast, when a loop is loaded.

Tomorrow I'm going to finally test it with my PSP soundbank, but I'm scared. I don't know if it was the PACE drivers or the combination of both iLok and Syncrosoft on my computer, but back then, two years ago, with PlugsoundPro, as soon as the PACE dongle was inserted, I would get random crashes and BSODs. Call me superstitious, but I never put the damn iLok dongle back in ever again. Never had any trouble with syncrosoft by the way.

So I'm actually going to try this tomorrow! Very exciting moment that.

Viktor, I have an ilok plug in since a few years now and never had such problem with tracktion2-3 and Cubase4 using PSP, MOTU SI and now UVIW. Good Luck!!

Olivier, we still cannot load multi coming from PSP. Is this suppose to work at some point?

Post

I'd also like to add that I've got stink-ro-soft AND ilok and in cubase 4.13 there seems to be no such issue.

However my stinkrosoft dongle is one the "new" shorter ones which apparently is more stable.

So I couldn't wait, tried it, and - NO crashes with the dongle, everything went smoothly. I like it!

But, now that I've played around with my PSP soundbank a little, I couldn't get a few things to work smoothly. Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with the plugin and doing it wrong. You can tell me then.

First of all, the loop "089-Shaker 1" in the percussion folder of my PSP soundbank doesn't sync properly to the host tempo. I mean, it is somehow in time, but the start of the loop is never on the first beat of the bar in Cubase. It is delayed by half a beat or so, never on time. I've tried the autotrigger, and also without it, with just a long note in the sequencer. Doesn't play on time.
Maybe (or not) there are more loops with that behaviour, haven't checked.

Another thing I find weird. When I have a loop loaded, and the sequencer isn't playing or going, and when I press a key to play the loop, it always starts somewhere else, as if there was an internal clock still running in the plugin that tells the loop which position it should be in.
But that's unnecessary, when the sequencer isn't playing I just want to hear the loop without its position being synced to some clock. I just want the clear loop from start to finish.

In the loop tab, in the wave-file display, when I move the mouse over the left edge of the waveform display, there appears an arrow symbol shortly, as if I could adjust the side of the display, which I of course can't. But the arrow appears, really shortly.

And a minor inconvenience, but not tragic I guess, is that the guitar loops don't seem to have the "slice" option, only "stretch", and the tempo of the loop (or just phrase in this case) isn't embedded in the file. So when I want to sync it to the tempo of the song, it doesn't do that automatically, but I have to manually enter its original tempo in the little "sync" window.
Not tragic, just inconvenient.

And finally for now, when I open the PSP bank, it doesn't just show the "Loops" and "Presets" folder, but also the "IR" folder with the impulse responses. I would like it if that "IR" folder wasn't visible, or do others find that useful? I don't anyway, I'd like it if only playable sounds would show up in the browser.

Otherwise, it runs quite smoothly. :tu:
Except of course for the one crash that I mentioned in an earlier post.

Thanks for your time,

Viktor

To the devs:

I sent you an email last week back regarding creating sample sets with Mach5, but have yet to hear back from you.

I'd be interested in getting this to work, so consider this a small email bump :)

PSP multi should work.

What's your issue with those ?

Hello Viktor,

Regarding sliced loop, they are three sync options: position, tempo and none.
The default option is position.
In this options, the loop will start where it should start according to either the host timeline if the host is running and Host sync is checked(default).
If the host is not running, then it sync to the plugin own timeline in order to in sync with other running loops.
So if you want to trigger manually your loop and that it always start at the beginning, you don't want this option.
In that case, you'll use the tempo options. It triggers always at the beginning or at a specific slice according to the slice/sample start at the current tempo.

The auto trigger is here so loops start or not when hitting the plugin global play or your sequencer global play.

Let me know if this answer your question.

If you sent your email at info@uvisoundsource.com then it's been sent t the right person, but that's just not us, devs.
He's very busy at this time, launching the uvisoundsource website and stuff.

He should get back to you very soon.

I see what you mean, I have to switch to tempo-sync, so that the loops start where I want them to. Okay, cool. Yes, didn't see that, thanks.

About the faulty shaker loop that I mentioned, can you reproduce that? It's always off by a beat or half a beat, never fits to the other loops, no matter what tempo. If you want, I could get you an audio example of what I mean, but only later tonight.

And about the crash, yes it still happens, actually I only tried it in standalone mode, but it crashed. The loops weren't playing, all silent. I switch too quickly between the modes Slice and Stretch, and crash.
Doesn't happen when you try it?

Other than that, it runs really well so far! Good job!

Exactly.

Just tried and it works fine using Cubase SX 4.1.2 on PC.
Which version are you using ?
If I remember correctly there was a known issue regarding faulty transport position given to plugin.
Please apply the latest Cubase patch.

So far not.
You're on mac PPC right ?
Running which osx ?
