Agreed. AU is definitely needed for a proper Mac release and I think Lennard already knows this since the AU is right around the corner from what he had mentioned.

This would mean that he has been working on the AU for the same amount of time, but he could have probably taken parts of the original VST code for the Mac version, and the AU would probably be a complete rewrite, hence the longer time frame.

I'm pretty sure he just released the VST right now because the code is obviously a lot closer in VST format. I mean why would he want to wait to release both the VST & AU if the VST was finished sooner? The wrapper will definitely do for now, and is a lot better than having to wait.

..fantastisch werk Lennard! Sylenth1 is by far my favourite synth, and this update merely confirmes it: Sylenth1 is in a league of it's own

Seconded. Also, it would have been nice to see a UB VST. Not all Mac users have migrated to Intel Macs yet; lots of Mac musicians have stable PPC setups -- just bought G5s prior to MacIntel launch in 2006. (Maybe there will be an AU to test by the time I get an IntelMac?) Of course, sales will grow once more Mac musicians migrate to Intel and AU Sylenth1 is available.

Ofcourse I'm aware of that, the VST version was built with a port to AU in mind. There will be an AU version in the near future.

There will never be a UB version for PPC unfortunately. This is because Sylenth1 heavily relies on fast SSE instructions which are simply not available in PPC CPU's. Since Apple stopped producing PPCs at all, it is just not worth all the work converting all the code to universal.

If you're still using PPC, you might want to consinder upgrading to Intel Mac anyway since they're also a lot faster.

Hey Lennard, what sort of features are coming in the future? Any plans for more oscs and waveforms, hard sync, single osc pwm, ring mod, fm and so on?

Really awesome synth, it sounds awesome. The update is also awesome, I'm just hanging out for more power before buying this synth

I tried the new version tonight. Works great here.. CPU usage appears to be about the same or maybe even a little lower. Looks and behaves just like the old version (except for the few minor user interface improvements), no unpleasant surprises there. I imported some of my old patches without any issues, they sound identical to my ears. No crashes so far. I like the new preset browser. Tomorrow I will load up some projects that used the old version and see if they work with the new one.

I'm still unable to automate aftertouch in Live 7.. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.. I'm pretty new to Live, having used Cubase 3 for a long time. I seem to be able to record aftertouch data but not edit it or draw it in manually.. Anyone using Sylenth1 in Live 7?

Another small issue - a few times when I held down the left mouse button over a knob for a long time, Live 7 and/or the Sylenth1 window would turn completely white and "(Not responding)" was added to the window titlebar. As soon as I let go of the left mouse button, both Sylenth1 and Live would come back to life. This only happened two or three times during the ~1 hour I played with Sylenth1 so it's not a big deal, just a minor annoyance.

Overall I'm very happy with this update.

Another PPC user here. Bit disappointing to see I will not be able to try Sylenth. My PPC works great, very stable and I expect to use it for a couple more years...

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed as well. I've got a quad G5 that does pretty well for itself and I'm not at all interested in upgrading.

Hi Lennard,
first of all - great work! But it seems that I found a small bug: program change buttons on my midi keyboard only work on bank1. When I switch to bank 2, 3 or 4 the buttons don't work or Sylenth1 will unexpectedly jump back to bank1.

Can somebody confirm this?

Great update, love the new preset system...

I do not know if this is a bug or a feature, when I move controls the rest of FL's GUI freezes until I let go of the control.
