alt+8 is the default, but I re-assigned it to BE = Toggle single click note entry.
MO = Left click draw, and as you draw feel free to move the mouse up and down, the note will be dropped when you release the mouse button. Click on a not and and release to erase. click on and drag to move it around. resize as normal.

alt+8 put you out of single click mode so you won't accidentally remove notes when trying to edit velocities and whatnot quickly.

but you are absolutely correct. Reaper is not, nor will it ever be FL. And thus it may not be the best fit for you.

good luck

Sure, Reaper will not ever be FL. However, as Cakewalk has proven, it's possible to code options that enable people to customize their piano roll workflow to match. This seems like a no-brainer to me as far as any development goes. The more options you can give your user the better, that way you don't have to worry about how your implementation of Method A will upset users of Method B.

Unfortunately, few devs seem to really use this philosophy, Image-Line included. For example, in version 8 of FL, a keyboard shortcut was moved from the left shift to right shift. The most useful keyboard shortcuts (IMO) are on the left part of the keyboard - my right hand sits on the mouse. Thus, moving that shortcut to right shift irritated many users. Why didn't the developers at least add an option to switch the shortcut back and forth? Myself and dozens of others are at a loss.

Perfect! Absolutely correct, and I am with you 120% (if that's even possible) on this one.

It's true, the ReaLoaded Mouse has been a big FR of Tal's...I'm a bigger fan than him though! :D

IIRC Justin said he'd implement that at some stage...is that right Tal?

Now Tal, you know I created the longest running FR in history with my left-click drag selection on items thread.

There's no shame in being second... :D

Yep - I'm big fan of this FR too. The mouse can be such a flexible and powerful tool.

Left hand keyboard, right hand mouse.
