"Snap to Grid" in the Modular Plug area.
It's already there!

Plug boxes are snapped to the background grid.

wtf.
You're right!

Thanks for the heads up on the crash! I thought as much after looking at the log. Symptohm has never behaved to well on either of my computers.

This thing is so stable already. Great job Jo. :hyper:

You mean closing the popup list? Just click outside it and it disappears without making a choice. Just like a normal popup menu.
I mean opening a VST's GUI. Sometimes I want to quickly check something in the instrument or FX and want to close it just as quickly. Having to click on the X at the top of the VST window feels rather cumbersome.

You can use the keyboard there. Press [Y] for Yes and [N] for No (on the question "Overwrite xxx")

Ooops you're right. Too sleepy in the morning :P

Right-click on the vst name (in the MU.LAB gui) and choose "Choose Program" from the context menu.
Right again! I had forgotten about it. Right click options in the mixer Ooops.
I have acouple more ideas that have nothing to do with beta testing but with general workflow. I will test some more this weekend and PM you about these ideas sometime next week or so. I don't want to interfere with the testing procedures.
I finished a tune with version 1 and it has proved to be a very stable app.

Modular Plug Area Weirdness #1:
When you mute a rack, it gets muted. However, when you solo a rack, everything gets muted.

Modular Plug Area Weirdness #2:
Changing audio connections during playback results in neverending note syndrome (observed in Sampla). Resetting Realtime engine fixes this.
Obviously this is something you normally shouldn't do. (but will do in the heat of composition.)
Sure enough, changing connections everwhich way without playback works fine.

You could also press the [Esc] key.

It works for all MU.LAB plugs, and 'might' work for VST plugs, in the latter case it depends on where the keyboard focus is, mu.lab doesn't have 100% control over that.

Or do you have another suggestion how to close a window even quicker?

Ok, looking forward to it!

I assume it's about the same crash that ApBTranCer reported.

Things is it's not possible to use a MuVerb/Echo/Mux between the voice input and voice output!

In 1.1 such misplaced plug was just ignored, in 2.0 seems to lead to a crash,
for some things have changed internally.

I'll add protection there and (try to) give a friendly alert when doing such thing.

Please see http://www.mutools.com/mulab/docs/musynth.html
for more info on which plugs can be used between voice in and out.

The "Audio Limiter" and of course "Sample Player" and "MultiSample Player" are to be added to that list.

Not sure if i understand;

When you solo a rack, all racks besides the one you're soloing are muted, except the racks which also receive audio from the solod rack.

No?

Indeed, can repeat it, and should not occur as everything should be possible while the music is playing.

Will be fixed.

What exactly would I have to do to get the redraw trouble? Just nudging them around?
Well after today, I'd say I just use a lot of old VSTs.

I have the problem with SR202, DS404 and LFX1310. A shame I like some of the sounds. These all function ok. It just <i>looks</i> bad in the background. Best to run in full screen.

No probs with Crystal and VSamp at all. Very happy about that. So I'm sure I can get similar sounds.

The Modular Plugin Area is helpful at times too.

Cheers!

LFX1310 always was trouble for me on my old G4 running 10.3.9 . This would be the multi FX panel yeah?
I believe the Computer Music synths are pretty dated by now, yes. The OSX versions infamously never get updated.
I haven't used the CM stuff in ages but i keep meaning to get SR 202 and CM 101 for OSX
Hated DS 404 though.

hey...
Latency problem isn't there anymore.
But... would be nice if there was a key combination like shift+left mouseclick for to move parts exactly to the needed place (without snapping to the 1,2,3 or 4 of a bar).

Just so you know, I'm loving the drag and drop from OS function for midi files and sound files.

That new CMPlay VST replaces DS404 (and easier to use) for me. Now I just need to find a good acoustic drum set, hopefully in Sampla.

I've already been prefering Mu.Lab's built-in delay and reverbs in current projects. And making music!

Windows - MULAB 2.0 Beta B
Using the Edit>Preferences to set the external Audio Editor doesn't seem to work. It remembers the folder, but not the exe.

When you right click on an Audio part, the only editor available is the internal one - Audio Lab.

Right-click -> Edit -> Choose Grid -> No Grid.

This way you can place parts / notes at any point.

You can also drag and drop..:

-> Audio files into the Sampler editor
-> Audio files into the MultiSample Zone Map
-> Plugins into racks (e.g. drag DLL into rack)

:)
