Hi,

1st off thanks for releasing the osx version of this great synth, I bought it when i was using a pc and was distraught after buying my mac for a while there...

System an dsoftware config:

MacPro OSX 10.5.4
Ableton Live 6.0.10
Novation Remote SL Zero
Automap Universal Software 2.0.1188
And of course Sylenth 1 version 2.0

Now my problem

When I remap my automap version of the plugin it maps two ionstances of knobs for certain midi messages, I'm unsure if it a problem with the automap software or Sylenth 1 version 2

So far I have found this also to be the case with:

oscillator A2 Volume ----- Mix A main volume

oscillator A2 Phase ------ Mix B main Volume

oscillator A2 Detune ------- oscillator A1 Volume

oscillator A2 Stereo ----- oscillator A1 Phase

oscillator A2 Pan ------- oscillator A1 Detune

Amp Env A Amplitude ------- oscillator A2 Phase

Amp Env A Decay -------- oscillator A2 Detune

Amp Env A Sustain ------- oscillator A2 Stereo

Amp Env A Release -------- oscillator A2 Pan

Filter Control Cutoff ------ oscillator A1 Stereo

Filter Control Resonance ------- oscillator A1 Pan

Filter Control Keytrack ------- oscillator A2 Volume

oscillator A2 Phase -------- modulation wheel

filter B Drive - Master volume

oscillator B2 Volume ----- Mix A main volume

oscillator B2 Detune ------- oscillator A1 Volume

oscillator B2 Stereo ----- oscillator A1 Phase

oscillator B2 Pan ------- oscillator A1 Detune

LFO1 Gain ------ modulation wheel

LFO2 Rate ----- Mix A volume

Lfo2 offset ------ oscillator A1 Volume

thanks

This seems to be an automap issue. You can assign midi controls to Sylenth1 without automap using the onboard Midi learn function.

Automap probably sends multiple CC values from some reason. From looking at the controller values you listed, it seems this problem only occurs for CC's < 32.

So you could use Sylenth1's Midi learn function to assign different controllers to these knobs:

Main Volume,
Mix A,
Mix B,
Osc A1 Volume,
Osc A1 Phase,
Osc A1 Detune,
Osc A1 Stereo,
Osc A1 Pan,
Osc A2 Volume,
Osc A2 Phase,
Osc A2 Detune,
Osc A2 Stereo,
Osc A2 Pan

And Maybe Osc B1 and B2 too.

Seems someone else with the same problem fixed this by changing the midi controller ports in Ableton's preferences. The controller should not use the same input and output port numbers.

OK thanks, I'll give this another go with regular midi learn.

Thanks again Lennar

indeed,

Download the SL user guide from our website, you will see a pic of the MIDI settings for Live on page 42.

http://www.novationmusic.com/support/user_guides/

Set-up as shown and you will not be sending MIDI data intended for automap to the input of a MIDI track.
