Has anyone else experienced any intermittent crackling noises using MFM2. I have a project in Logic 8 where I am using MFM2 as a Delay Return for 4 vocal tracks and when I was mixing I heard a crackling noise. I noticed that the delay channel signal bars were moving when no signal was being sent to the bus. I stopped the playback and after about two seconds the crackling noise came back. It lasts for about two seconds then stops for about fifteen seconds then starts again and this goes on indefinately. I changed the preset but the crackling remained the same. I replaced MFM2 with one of Logics delay Plug ins and everything was fine. I created a project in Cubase Studio 4 imported an mp3 file and put MFM2 in an insert channel. Before I even pressed play on the sequencer, the crackling sound started and continued like before in my Logic project.
I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo iMac 3.06 GHz with 4GB RAM, Running OS X 10.5.4.
Logic Pro 8.0.2,Cubase Studio 4.1.3.853.
The MFM2 AU Plug In is V2.0 and VST Plug In is 2.0.1
Is there anything I can do to stop the crackling noise as I cannot use MFM2 in any of my projects until this problem is fixed.

I believe that crackling indicates MFM2 is in demo mode.

I had the same problem, took a while to find out from where the noise was coming from since I had lots of plugins on my project. The noise disappeared after I reinstalled MFM2.

Spot on justin3am it was in demo mode.
Somehow MFM2 got amnesia on two computers and forgot I entered the registraion codes. It's working fine now.
I hope it will not get amnesia again.
Thanks for your help.
Martin.

Normally not, unless you've got write-protected directories here:martinf63 wrote:I hope it will not get amnesia again.
MacHD/Users/You/Library/Application Support/u-he/
(or for Win, which you havn't got: C:\Program Files\u-he\Support\)
If the problem persists, please try a Repair Permission from the system dvd..
Cheers,
