Let's hope it's with Pete and Steve. I bet it is. Probably Led Zep style expensive tickets, one show... something like that. 6 of the best vibe. Pete and Steve guesting on half the show or something. I could try to find out but even if I did I wouldn't be able to say anything so... but right now I have no idea.

One cool thing though is that I might get to sit in with Simon when/if Phil joins him on a gig to play The Big Bang (the song I played and co-wrote with Simon that Phil duels drums with Simon on. The album comes out August 19th if you want to hear that btw... pretty soon! Hackett is also on the album).

Ooo, that album sounds like a cracker, I look forward to it.

Good to hear the album is close to release.
We'll be spinning it soon then, can't wait. 8)

Simon played his first gig with the band recently. They opened for Collective Soul in Canada. The only person who was on the album that's in the live band is Kelley the guitarist. Cool guy. We flew him out to Florida for Keep it Dark. I found out that Keep It Dark is unfortunately not on the album. That's a bummer because a lot of people were hoping to get a non-mp3/non-compressed version of the song and I really thought it would be some kind of bonus track on it. Eh, I guess it will make its way on an import or something. I'm still going to do a wild remix of it one of these days just for fun. I'm getting all of the raw tracks for The Big Bang to do a remix of that as well. It's a cool track and one I can see it in movie trailers, video games or a cool car commercial or something (and if it does then beers on the house! haha jk). There's so much drumming in that track that Phil's hands were shaking for days after that. Brutal. Simon really worked him. I was just saying to Simon "Why did I NOT come out to Vegas when Phil was doing his drum parts?" I could kick myself for that. That would be been worth a little trip to Vegas Baby Vegas (bring something nice to wear). What was I thinking? Oh well. No complaints. I did all of my tracking from my studio and then sent them over the internet. Modern days...

I did ask Simon if he knew anything about any Genesis reunion stuff and as I suspected he knows even less than me. I guess we'll find out though. Surprises are always fun. But I would imagine they might do SOMEthing to promote that Gabriel-era box set... which I can't wait to get. I actually got to hear bunch of it already when I was at The Farm and it is INCREDIBLE. I sat there for 20 minutes in Nick Davis' seat listening to Supper's Ready. I can't believe he let me do that. He's very cool. Also Twighlight Alehouse (had to pick an obscure one) and Dancing With the Moonlit Knight... maybe Battle of Epping Forrest just because I wanted to hear how all of those voices and effects were panned. I forget now. I DIDN'T get to hear anything from the Lamb in 5.1 though so I am dying to hear that!

Hoping to see Simon gigging here in Italy in the near future.
Regarding Genesis 5 pieces reunion, i suppose (it's only a personal speculation) they will preview the box set in a multimedia/press event reuniting toghether for that occasion, maybe with Peter singing on a Carpet Crawlers excerpt, and making us aroused for the next five years about an undefinitely future Lamb tour.
Anyway, Steve will be here for Italian Dusk Day fan meeting, on September 20th 2008 in Orvieto, that is an awesome medieval town 50kms far from my home. That day i will work and will not be able to go there but there will be dozens of friends of mine and knowing as they are so strong about Genesis...they will probably put Steve (or its Gibson Les Paul) on a medieval torure chamber and something will surely leak out!!!!
Anyway the box set will be really awesome.
Hope and cross fingers.
Ciao,
PGi
