Hy max, sorry for the incovenience. We were suposed to release the new beta days before beta-14 expired. But you will love the new features and drop of CPU usage. ;)

The new beta should be out before Monday, or even this week-end. (we will at least try to release a semi-functional beta just to check the new code out)

Best Regards, WilliamK

Guys, please, be patient. We are working hard on the new code. So far we got the Waveform, Envelope and Filter done. All coded in ASM with pure SSE instructions. Is blazing fast, and we can allready state that this will be the fastest VST on the market. :o But I don't want to give you a non-completed beta to test. So wait a bit more and test the whole thing with the new code. ;)

I still got to convert the effects and final signal path mixer.

BTW: We allready coded it for multiple outs. And we will give 2 DLL options, one with one stereo out and another with 5 stereo outs. One for each part (OSC 1,2,3) and 2 for each FX output. :D This is working allready.

Best Regards, WilliamK

thanks William.... that sounds super great! Don't worry... we are just kidding with you... :D

Just a Radeon 9000 with 128DDR...I'm not a gamer either and my mobo is old now...I just figured getting a new card would be easier than replacing the fan on my gforce over and over...

:o And other Dash synths will follow suit for high speed?!:o

It would be fantastic if you could set a new standard with your plugins concerning speed and low CPU usage. Then it wouldn´t be necessary to buy a new computer every 2 years or so, only because new VSTs are always getting CPU hungrier. Good luck for that.

NEW BIG BETA 16 UPDATE

Is almost done, here is the new beta with BIG SPEED improvments. The only thing that haven't been updated are: EQ, TapeDelay and Modulator. So avoid using those to test speed for now, but they work.

We didn't compromise the sound at all, actually, all the logical code are still the same. We just implemented with Assembler and SSE instructions to make it blazing fast. Just note that old computers without SSE capable processor won't be able to run EVE. But that means PII, AMD K6II and older, so that shouldn't be a problem. ;)

Also, the Filter was upgraded with a new code that has a better saturation and dyn.

Please, let us know how this new beta goes CPU wise.

BTW: Andreas, yes, we do intend to release new faster products. Most hobbists programers don't bother about CPU usage, that's why most VSTs are too CPU hungry. People would be impressed on how those programers cluters the CPUs with simple codes. I know cause I started like that, but I'm improving myself every day. ;)

you make a very important point William... just imagine if all vsti's were less cpu demanding!!! wouldn't that be nice... it would mean so much to the end users... perhaps oncec again Dash will be the leader in showing what can be done and hopefully others will catch on... off to get the beat right this min!

many thanks, :) max the happy :)

holy KRAPP! cpu lower? I GUESS SOOOO! wowzir... like way, way lower... I'm getting about 6.5% in chainer with a few extra loads put on and 3 diff instruments in each channel....

can't tell about the eq loads yet of course but so far VERY VERY impressive... Nice going Dash'ers!!!!

ASM for the masses... LOL

two questions off the top of my head yet... one, the age old mystery... what is the black box above each channel or osc at the left side eventually for? Will it hold a patch name or what, or is it just a black hole? %^)

next, I don't find the audio outs yet... assuming they just are not in this beta? or... where do I find the controls for that plz?

but for the first few min's... I AM mightily awed by your ASM powers.... man, when you get around to doing that with all the others vsti's what a huge diff it will make.... I mean I'm not on a hugely powerful cpu and I can choke it up quickly with cpu vsti loads... so to have vsti's that don't load it up, is so kewl... it of course means I can run more at once and have no worries...

EVE my little darling... I think I'm in love! Pass me another apple will you dear?

Max, glad you apreciate it! :D

Maybe we could change the slogan:

"Razormaid!
How Slow Can You Go? CD-8 "

to

"Dashmain!
How low can your CPU usage go?"

Actually, this will blow your mind. Eve could use even less CPU usage, but for that we would have to recode too much of the synth, and it would look to complicated, therefore, non-stable. So we chose a mid-way path for it. We are still doing tests with ASM code, maybe something new could come up, but we need to release this baby soon, so maybe we leave for a future update.

About multiple-outs, they are there, not sure how Chainer handles that, could you check if you can see the multiple-outs? On CubaseSX and Orion it shows 5 stereo outs, and on CubaseSX it shows the name of each channel. (Orion shows 1 2 3 4 5 only ggrrrr)

will do William right away in fact... chainer don't have multiple audio out's yet so that makes sense... I was just looking for them... let's see what another SEQ shows....

even less cpu? the future looks bright...

...new Dash slogan "Less IS More"
