If you play on the keyboard, can you hear guitar loops and vocal loops ?hibidy wrote:I there a known bug with the some of the PSP loops not playing or they sound "clicky"?
PC, 1.09, standalone
When I load any of the guitar loops, they do not sound
When I load any of the vocal loops, they do not sound
The bass loops are clicky, regardless of tempo
The others are fine
When loops are using the strech and not the slice algorithm they donot play automaticly. This might be what you're seeing.
Regarding bass, it might be some bad sliced loops, can you give us a path of one
you have issue with ?

This limitation is as said previously by design.ttoz wrote:But why not go that step further and incorporate tempo guessing for these standard audio files like live/cubase 4/acid does? If a loop is perfect length, bars and beats are easy to determine...mdsp wrote:It would make sense to preview samples without any loop hints as oneshots.ttoz wrote:BUT, could I make a feature request? TO INDEED preview loops in tempo that don't have the metadata, by guessing, just like Live, acid and Cubase4 do! It's possible! Pretty please??
Even more interesting, is that the one loop it DID Preview and guess in that folder definitely had NO metadata/markers, so it shows it's already possible somehow.
I would certainly have no need for ableton live after that, as it's hte only reason i keep it, to preview loops in tempo that don't have markers, as a rewire slave with with my logic project... i'd personally spend the money i sold live for to buy plugsound ro and all the expansions!
The reason behind is mostly not give away everything for free.
We do have an automatic slicing algorithm though as you have guessed.
So far, no UVIWorkstation Pro has been decided to be made.

That's not the only reason. Samples are not all meant to be loops, you could as well have instrument samples and one-shots. previewing them as loops all the time doesn't make much sense either.otristan wrote:This limitation is as said previously by design.

I must say I'm really impressed by the software.
Browsing is very easy, the included sounds are superb and I totally love the fx (even though loading one of the "mastering" presets crashed it)
If you want some FR's for a pro version I'd pay for:
1. full slicer capabilities (autoslice wav files and allow tweaking of the slice markers)
2. allow us to map our own samples
3. also release a seperate fx verion
btw: is it possible to move the sample library of my C drive?

Just create shortcut to real ufs files inside the UVISoundbanks folder, so you don't have to have big files on your main drive.
Still the UVISoundbanks folder cannot have a custom location so far.

Sounsa great, my only issue is with the I-Lok to play future soundbanks. First time it loaded in Orion, it played, it synced to tempo, but the minute I tried to delete it it took down Orion and crashed my ASIO4All. Second time I tried everything worked great, but now when I defrag my hard drive I keep getting a message :Files that cannot be defragmented: Documents and Settings\LocalService\ntuser.dat.LOG
This only stared since I installed UVI and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the RSS feed. Is there anyway to turn this off? I am never connected to the net when I'm doing music for CPU reasons, and I think you should make this a button that asks you if you want RSS feeds or not. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for the wonderful free player, though.

The RSS feed is only fetched once when you open the UI (it just download a very very small xml file) and it's done in a background thread so it doesn't slow-down the UI. If it fails to get it because you don't have a network connection it won't try again unless you reopen the UI. Is that enough for you?osiris wrote:Sounsa great, my only issue is with the I-Lok to play future soundbanks. For the ntuser.dat.LOG file that you can't defrag: we for sure do not try to manipulate your system at such a low level... don't worry.
for more info about that file:
http://www.chullickal.blogspot.com/2008 ... atlog.html
this indicate that your system has opened the ntuser.dat.LOG file for some reason and did not close yet. So in the meantime you won't be able to run defrag on it.

Yeahotristan wrote:After checking, it shouldn't happen with new project, can you confirm this ?Dudulle wrote:Yes, I use shorcuts for all ufs files (got 2 HDD).otristan wrote: It looks you're using a shortcut for this ufs file.
I remember changing some stuff in there.
So reloading old session might cause some issue.
Does this happen if you reload the instrument back, save the session and reload it ?
thanks,
No issues when reloading old sessions if I've saved all UVIWorkstation stuff in a multi.
These issues happen only when no multi was saved within the project.
Thanks,
With new projects, it doesn't happened. Just checked.
Excellent

Thanks mdsp--I wasn't sure, like I said this only started after installing this so I had to wonder. I don't even know what that.log is. I thought it might be connected to the RSS Feed. Thanks!!

(not sure if this has been mentioneed yet). I have been noticing that occcasionally my instrument will sslip out of tune by half a step in the middle off a ssession.... So for e.g. my strat dull patch will suddenly drop out of tune. Once I reload the patch its fine. Thiss iss in logic studio and version 1.08 of the player (perhaps this has been fixed in .09)
Also, a small request.... the old plugsound players used to be able to switch the filters at a half way point (as far as I remember). So, if you used the filter on the bottom half it was a lowpass and then the top half was a high pass. It was very useful and doesnt seem to be implemented in the uvi player

Humm that's very strange. Never heard of this.asparknz wrote:(not sure if this has been mentioneed yet). Is that possible that you got some pitch bend in this track ?
Or a midi CC to global tune ?
does it happen if you only play this midi track ?( see if it's realted to a HD or CPU overload)
This is now an optional FX that you can put on the part to match old plugsound behavior.asparknz wrote: Also, a small request.... the old plugsound players used to be able to switch the filters at a half way point (as far as I remember). Please look in the directory 05 - Filters > 04 - UVI Filter of the FX browser.
