i haven't gotten it to crash or block any notes, but i'll try to clean it up today and see if that helps.hcv242 wrote:youre amazing...it works...ive tried it in psycle + energyxt vsti ....it crashed twice....once when ive set the shape to 0...another one when i was saving the project (guess this one could be a coincidence)... and sometimes the audio goes mute...like if it blocked all the notes...after a while the notes start to play again. the two times it crashed notes were being played... i couldnt reproduce any of the crashes...lousy bug report i know... sorry....will test more tomorrow...the only thing i can reproduce is when everything goes silent....just fill all the 16 steps of a bar (any settings in midiswing) and let it play for a while....it takes less than one minute here.
thanks a lot.
as far as the actual effect goes, it sounds okay? is "shape" useful?

i'll make some examples showing how "shape" should work. it can be subtle. that and the 8 or 16 setting could possibly have no effect depending on the input pattern.Optomadic wrote:piz Amount works perfectly. Shape does not seem to do anything for meOnly if I turn down the note value to 8 do I get anything.
Also wondering what Reserverd is for??
Thanks again
"Reserved" is where i might put options to affect other midi events besides just notes.
i'm figuring something out right now... hopefully i can upload an improved version soon.

midiSwing update:
http://thepiz.org/xt/midiSwing.zip
i fixed some bugs and increased general robustness. seems to work right for me.
here's a small illustration of "shape"...

i played four consecutive 16th notes, with 8th note swing applied. in both cases, the note on the 8th note division is delayed by the full amount, but when "shape" is at 0, the two notes adjacent to it are also delayed by a smaller amount.

now each instance takes 3% of this p4 3.2 ghz, the first version took 0.2% . i would really like to use 16 instances per track
.... also there are two shape sliders, and one doesnt show any values. ive tried it in ext v1.4.1.
it looks like this, here:

besides notes it would be cool if it swung notes+CCs ...and also a third mode; all midi messages.
about going silent before...im starting to think that it was my asio drivers fault.

thanks for the feedback.
i've been working on it, and i think i fixed some things:
http://thepiz.org/xt/midiSwing.zip
should have lower CPU usage, and not have stuck notes when changing Amount from 0 during a note. and the "randomness" parameter is labeled now.
it can be optimized further, if necessary...
if this doesn't fix the problems in FL8, i'll have to get the demo and try it.
i'm planning to do notes+CCs mode, maybe not all messages but we'll see.

hmmm... it's definitely better for me. does it have a "Randomness" parameter instead of a blank one (or second "Shape")? if not, try this link: http://thepiz.org/xt/midiSwing20080822.zip
either way, i'll optimize it some more.
