New version works great. I was able to try it as a MIDI groove plugin in eXT 1.41 and it also works perfectly.

Keep up the good work and thanks again.

midiSwing update:

http://thepiz.org/xt/midiSwingX.zip

- Rearranged and renamed some parameters
- Added more shapes ("Parabolic" is the old one, "TimeFocus" was called "Shape")
- Added "Notes & CCs" mode
- Can now affect (offset) velocity for swung notes. Randomness also affects velocity.
- better performance?

still experimenting...

Piz nice work! Still have to test the latest one. The ability to effect velocity caught my attention.

How exactly would swing effect it? Please explain.

Thanks again.

it means the velocity of a note is adjusted based on its original timing.

here i sent it straight 8ths, with 100% 8th-note swing and velocity -40. every other 8th note is delayed and reduced in velocity:

the "Velocity" parameter sets the maximum velocity offset, which is then scaled according the the timing of the note as well as the shape settings, just like with the delay. notes that are delayed the most are also have the most velocity offset.

Is a Linux version of midiSwingX in the plans ?

Post

yes, when it's finished it will be part of the regular package.

here's a linux version:

i added another parameter called "TimeOffset" which lets you change the affected area from even-numbered steps to odd ones or anywhere in between. this would let you use two or more midiSwings in series to affect different parts of the beat in different ways.

then i added more selections for the step value, as long as 3 bars (assuming 4/4). that means every other 3 bars it would delay the first note (by up to 300%, which means it would come 3 bars later).

note: i'm not claiming this is useful.

What format are these plugins? Are they XT only? When I try to register them in Windows I get an error: 'midiCC16Router.dll was loaded, but the DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered.'

Post

they're VSTs, so you don't need to register them. they should work in any VST host.

i updated the first post to be more clear about this... thanks for pointing it out.

Ah, I see, thanks! I got directed here from a post about the TenCrazy MIDI plugins, I guess I just assumed that these were MIDI plugins as well.

piz the latest version is now very usable in songs. It works great after a MIDI arp!!! I've found no real flaws in this latest iteration. Thank you a lot for your hard work so far on this.

One question I forgot to ask you before (and probably should have) is if you could possibly add a simple probability function. Where the more you increase its value the more gaps you get in the note cycles and CC (or vice versa).

Actually now that I think of it this would probably be good as a separate plugin. Random probability is something I've been needing more of lately. Let me know if this could be a possibility please..

Thanks
