Do Artillery and Effectrix only work with audio tracks?

I could have sworn that the first time I gave the Effectix demo a quick spin, I was able to use it with an instrument track (Stylus RMX).

But, today, when I tried it out again, no luck. And the manuals make it seem as if you can only side chain to audio tracks, and in today's session, this seems to be true. I tried it on a few different instrument tracks with no success.

Am I missing something?

If this isn't a feature right now, will it be in the future? Since I rarely work with audio tracks, except for vocals, I'm left out in the cold when it comes to these plug ins!

Using Logic 7 Pro, by the way.

Hi John,

this is possible with logic's busrouting.
Route the output from the Instrument track to Bus1.
Now you can feed the Bus1 signal to Effectrix via Sidechain.
