I'm hoping there will be an upgrade path for owners of both Atmosphere and Stylus RMX. (Hey, it never hurts to ask!)

I'm banking on the answer being 'yes' and I hope that Spectrasonics is very kind to those of use who own Atmosphere (and Stylus RMX).
Yes. There will be an upgrade available for all Atmosphere customers directly from Spectrasonics.

Hmmm ... don't want to appear ungrateful, but what about owning Atmosphere & StylusRMX (but not Trilogy). Surely that might warrant an "inbetween" upgrade path ?
The VIP upgrade is our way of saying a super-extra massive thanks to all our loyal users, that bought all our instruments through authorized Spectrasonics dealers.

I'll be really upfront about our motive too:

If you haven't figured it out already, our goal is to encourage our users to own the whole product line and to hang on to them. We'll be doing more an more VIP things, where those users get killer offers and the very best deals.

It's a bit like the "Komplete" concept, but more reward-oriented than a specific bundle product like NI does.
It would more attractive to me that way :)
Oh...I think we've made the whole thing pretty attractive already. The Atmosphere upgrade is very generous. You'll see on the 15th

Well, I'm a proud (apparently) SVIP!

(Semi-VIP!!)

All legitimate customers of Atmosphere will be able to upgrade to Omnisphere. Including license transferred/used versions (as long as it was done properly through Spectrasonics).

License transfers are just not eligible for the the ultra special VIP pricing.

???
Imagine, you buy a 500$ software and you don't like it or you need money, but the potential buyer won't have upgrades (i don't mean updates) to the next version like the original buyer has.
As I have stated many, many times on KvR, the next user DOES indeed have access to the upgrade path.

They just won't be eligible for the VIP upgrade pricing. They'll be eligible for standard upgrade pricing. (which is still extremely generous IMHO) :-)

Everything sounds like above and beyond the call of duty from yourself and the rest of your team @ spectrasonics, $500 of whatever it is priced at and especially the customers whom own previous releases seems way much than fair IMO. It smells like a bargain either way to me: whom does not own any previous spectrasonics products and BTW that was one of the best de-hypes i have ever read (concerning that monster of a response which is still ongoing it seems) Nice One

Hehehehe

Oh....you'll see. :-)
I thought the contest winners did some truly amazing work but there was a similar characteristic in the sound to all the pieces that showed how small the sound pallete really is at the mo.

That would obviously be because everyone was using the same tiny set of contest loops, not because they were using Omnisphere itself.

That's a tiny drop in the bucket of what the sound pallete is.

I don't know of too many other instruments that can cover as much sonic territory as this one....IMHO.

Check the real thing out for yourself soon and see if I'm wrong. :-)
It's obviously difficult to tell at thia stage so I am hoping things will get a little warmer on release because some of the new modulation features are really innovative and powerful.
How does combining the internal synth with Oberheim 4-voice, Jupiter 8, Prophet 5, Modular Moog 55, Korg MonoPoly, Juno 60, EDP Wasp, Minimoog, Studio Electronics Omega, Oberheim OB-8, Yamaha CS-80, Oberheim Xpander sound to you?

Oh....did I forget to mention that we included all of that? :-)

I hope, really really hope that the "deal" can be graded for owners of one, two, or all three Spectrasonic products!!!

Maybe a:
"good customer" you bought Atmosphere
"KSP" (kind of special person) you bought Atmoshere and RMX.
and
"VIP" you bought them all

I own Atmosphere and RMX. I'd love to pick up trilogy, but find the basses in atmosphere make me happy enough !!!!!

As someone who:
===> bought Komplete last month ( Absynth, Massive, Battery and Reaktor are WONDERFUL, but very DIFFERENT from the spectrasonics stuff. They compliment each other well. Or... maybe omnisphere will replace them all! :D)

===> just bought a new UAD2 Quad this weekend

===> And WILL BE UPGRADING to omnisphere as soon as it is available

I can't afford to buy trilogy :-( but would appreciate all the love I can get for buying Atmosphere and RMX !!! :D

Thanks Eric and gang for marvelous products!

So Spectrum or Glen, is SOV in Omni now?
Yep. :-)

Basically the entire Symphony of Voices library is integrated into the Omnisphere core library.

Also, all of the Vocal Planet multisamples are included too.

Granular synthesis on Tuvan Throat singers anyone? :-)

I have been writing music as a hobby for few years now getting better and better, in fact just sent my first tune to Armada label....

Anyways i always wanted to get into synthesis for a long time, few years back was getting good at FM7 but it just wasnt good enough for me, so i was waiting and waiting for some good synth plug to come out so i can jump in it.

And now omnisphere caught my attention. I was disappointed a bit that the actually synthesis features were not released in the video episodes you guys put out. But something tells me this is a good program to start learning and go really deep into it. If the synth is as big and as powerful as you say spectrum i hope you guys will ship it with some tutorials on synthesis and such.

So far im sold, just cant wait to actually see all the features of this thing so i can place my order without worry. :)
