I have purchased software from the US in the past only to find it held up in UK Customs and it will not be released until I have paid the duty. :-o
I'm a bit disappointed too. Eric, I know you won't announce the upgrade price until the 15:th but could you tell us if - at the current conversion rate - it will exceed the €150 difference between the list prices on Atmo and Omni after one has added shipping and 25% VAT? I'm getting a little worried that maybe I made a bad move by buying Atmosphere a little while ago.

I have both Trilogy and RMX would it be cost effective for me to purchase Atmosphere now to become a VIP or is it to late :?:

Thanks :)
If you can find it.

We stopped shipping Atmosphere a few weeks ago.

Would you rather have the upgrade cost almost double and have no VIP pricing?

At the end of the day, you're still saving a lot of money.

The only way we can be so generous with users and manage such a complex upgrade is to do it direct.

It's the same way we did the upgrade from Stylus Classic to Stylus RMX.

All users were very happy with how that process went.

Should work out really well for you. Let us know directly if there's a problem.

And of course, you'll end up with two instruments. :-)

Yes....all the best stuff from DR1 and DR2 is included. We also went back to original masters and did a lot of higher res sampling to improve the material. It's VERY cool stuff to use with the STEAM engine synthesis. :-)

New central forum for Spectrasonics
Don't count on that. Sorry.

We've seen WAY too many people abuse the company forums of all the companies that do that. It's a massive timesoak and a real mess and so we've never done it for that reason.

Our approach of "voluntary staff partcipation" on other user forums works much better and keeps things more civil. If people get too nasty, we can just not participate for awhile since it's not our official forum. :-)

Sounds cool then. Now I'm just going to have to find a way to get the time to pass until the 15:th... :help:

Eric, how well will omnisphere behave in the Trance genre, as i mentioned few pages back im not yet good with synthesis and dont really have the knowledge to create powerful leads, ambiences, pads. Would omnisphere replace Refx's Nexus once i pick up on the knowledge that is?

Post

Yeah, waiting sucks...

BTW, it's kinda funny that a thread that was started to question all the hype around Omni ultimately ended up hyping it even more. Guess it's kind of hard not to considering the track record of the company, as a comment on the statements about the hype earlier in the thread my impression is that the hype started as soon as Spectrasonics mentioned that they were releasing something new. The extraordinary quality of their previous products makes a lot of people really curious about what they're going to do next and then the hype more or less generates itself and is furthermore well deserved.

So is it safe to say that with all the inevitable orders coming in from THOUSANDS of customers.....

We shouldn't be expecting to get our hands on Omnisphere until the end of September? I don't remember how long it took to receive my RMX discs in the mail. If overnight shipping is available for Omnisphere I think I'll go that route.

By the way Spectrum, can we expect to see an updated arpeggiator in the near future with individual note transpose included? Any included chord(learn) functioning as well?

Sorry for moaning Eric but without knowing the VIP upgrade price I'm worried about the shipping costs and taxes that may make buying Atmosphere to get the VIP upgrade uneconomical.

I know you can't give a price just yet, but if you think after all the other expense it is still the best way to go I will order Atmosphere now.

Thanks for your response.

my only hope for omnisphere is user sample importing (so i can get better use out of metasynth) and user definable waveforms for the oscillators and lfos
It would be nice to be able to import single-cycle waveforms (Galbanum has some great collections) for the lfos and waveshapers. I'm sure that would be useful for the oscillators too, especially for doing FM.

almost seems like a plug-in version of the V-synth- if it can mangle those psychoacoustic samples even half as well as the V it will be worth it for sure

i use the galbanum waves for absynth all the time
with that feature implemented it render absynth obsolete

I was able to get my hands on Atmosphere today and already own Stylus RMX, so I hope the discount will be significant!

Omnisynth looks way cool - can't wait.
