I approached and spoke with Eric about this idea very briefly at NAMM in January. We have not spoke about since then, but I would be interested in doing anything needed from my end. What do you think Eric?DocAtlas wrote:It would be nice to be able to import single-cycle waveforms (Galbanum has some great collections) for the lfos and waveshapers. I'm sure that would be useful for the oscillators too, especially for doing FM.jackmazzotti wrote:
my only hope for omnisphere is user sample importing (so i can get better use out of metasynth) and user definable waveforms for the oscillators and lfos

I have found that UPS also charges MUCH more to ship these days, especiallly overseas. They add a load of extra charges when shipping out of the country. Maybe that helps pay for it sometimes or something? Sorry, I don't completely understand VAT.Dave Bourke wrote:Thanks for this info, koalaboy.koalaboy wrote:Nope, and they don't have to as they're not Europe-registered.Dave Bourke wrote:To any European upgraders buying from the Specs TechShop: are they charging VAT at the point of sale?
Kind regards.
However, as they're shipping with UPS, we'll likely get hit with import duty and VAT on arrival, unless they've marked the value down (PLEASE !!) - UPS will probably pay the charges and then restrospectively invoice you for those charges and their own handling charges![]()
Unfortunately, the shipping notification doesn't show the marked value.
UPS apparently do their customs clearance differently from Fedex. I'm told it's something like the airline passenger's Green Lane/Red Lane choice. Apparently, Fedex always goes through the Red Lane with everything, while UPS goes the Green Lane. At any rate, I've often got stuff from overseas through UPS that hasn't attracted duty or VAT (and should have), while I've had to pay both on every single Fedex shipment I've ever received.
Anyway, thanks again for the info. Makes it easier to calculate the value of the VISA pre-paid credit voucher. Now I gotta get a new Raptor drive to hold the Omni library...
Kind regards.

Heck, even shipping IN THE STATES is more with UPS these days, BIG TIME. I was shipping a violin. Not very heavy, and not THAT big of a box. UPS wanted almost $40 to ship it from Nashville to the New York area.afterwerk wrote:I know... I was selling my Virus synth early this year and to ship to Brazil cost over $400!!!! I then sold it to someone in Michigan instead... cost about $45.
Fedex cost me $11 or so. Yeah, pretty drastic. But some people seem to prefer UPS. Maybe they get a special deal or something?
Regardless, I got myself a FedEx account and pay very little. I've shipped guitars for around $12, maybe even a little less, I don't remember.

So can you have more than 1 oscillator per Layer (Layer A / Layer B)? Is there anywhere we can see JPEG images of the interface (as opposed to the Quicktime movie provided)?

I just hit pause while watching the video; it's easy to see stuff. Eric has stated that there are 5 oscillators per layer. Plus other oscillators for hard sync, FM, and ring modulation. On the interface, it's easy to see this in the video, after the various patches are shown.soundpalace wrote:So can you have more than 1 oscillator per Layer (Layer A / Layer B)? It seems to be arranged as 1 main osc and 4 sub-oscillators. On the synth osc, the other four have seperately adjustable waveform, shape, symmetry, and some other parameters that aren't showing (there is a pair of L/R arrows above the knobs, presumeably for other things like level and pan); on the sample osc, the other four have level, pan, tune, and an octave setting. I'm assuming they all share the same sampled waveform.

The Harmonia sub-oscillators in Synth mode have both pages and in Sample mode have one page.
