Anyone here who got Omnisphere?

Can I suggest you guys get your own forum either on your own site or at KvR ? I'm well tired of your constant Omnispam spruiking.

But I doubt you will. Once the initial sales hoopla runs down I imagine you'll be pretty scarce again. A forum would commit you to a real presence.

If I remember correctly here is how it went:

- Glenn Olander joined KVR in April 2002 as GlennO (one of the first 2,600 members). He has posted 146 times as of this writing, the same month the first news item on his synth Crystal appeared following its release.

- Spectrasonics hired Glenn Olander after he'd gotten a lot of attention with Crystal. Posts on the topic first appeared on KVR in September of 2003.

- Crystal was frequently updated until November of 2004. It was updated once more in early 2006 to add compatibility for Intel Macs.

- He was the Principal Software Designer on Stylus RMX and SAGE. Stylus RMX was released in late 2004.

- He and Neal Olander handled Principal Software Development on STEAM and Omnisphere, which was released this week.

I think that his credentials as a software programmer and his longtime association with the forum are pretty much "as good as it gets". He may have only posted 140-150 times but it looks like that was because he was busy getting things done. My hat goes off to him.

As you can probably tell from the specs, Omnisphere is a pretty ambitious instrument. That necessitated a new engine, which we wrote in-house, named STEAM.

Sorry Eric: I haven't slept yet and I've got 2 album projects to work on today, so that would have to wait. For what it is worth, the FX is all from Omnisphere and controllable within the synth.

If a lot of people want the same thing, I'll try and get something up if a free moment comes up. *Fingers crossed.*
