the strumming thing won't be too hard to get started. i can use the note-delaying stuff from midiSwing, but scale the delay time based on note number.

a real midi delay would be a logical addition to these delay-based plugins... i'm sure i will get to it eventually.

and yes, there is a "donate" button in the first post of this thread.

maybe i should try the realguitar demo, but probably i'll just reinvent the wheel... obviously with midi it can be more of a general-purpose thing, not only for simulated strumming, but a different way to play a keyboard. it should be interesting.

I'm working on using MIDI vst's in conjection to get basic backing patterns created from chord progressions.
In this clip I basically layed down a chord progression and allowed several MIDI VST's and the built in MIDI delay of the host to do the rest of the work.

This is the basic premise for me needing a strummer and also a delay that output MIDI. I'd like to be able to easily allow my host to churn out algo like patterns based on what I've already played.

BTW PIZ AFAICT RG uses the free Looper as its pattern engine (if that helps at all).

IPH is there a way for MIDI looper to drop loops or notes its recorded in Overdub mode?

BTW in the version that I have it often goes into a sustained note playing even though the notes I've recorded into a loop are very short. Whats up with that??

overdub mode doesn't work very well... it's probably better not to use it. it would work better to use multiple instances, or to wait until i make a multi-slot version (could take a while).

if you get stuck notes, maybe send me the midi file saved by midiLooper. from that i can at least tell if it was created during recording or during playback, and i'll have something to test so i can possibly fix the plugin so it doesn't stick.

Its not all that important that overdub works. I'd much rather see a full version of that strummer plugin up and running! Any projected dates for it?

Strumming with chord support would be

all i wanted from the XT1 chord comp was strumming (with some settings & randomness) so the chord's played would sound like they where really being played, as apposed to all triggering at the exact same time

I guess between the looper in Real Guitar, its engine and the eXT1 chord comp you have a pretty good idea IHP of where to start.

i'm almost ready to post it...

it doesn't have built-in chords or patterns. you have to input the chords and the rhythm separately. it's somewhat complicated to use at the moment, but i'm getting a moderately adequate strummed electric guitar sound from the XT2 synthesizer.

Sounds pretty good. Are the strum times going be able to be stretched out much longer? If not I fear it may sound more like glitch
